So many of my favorite lovely things begin with the letter T. Teapots, teacups, tea, topiaries, tapestries, transferware, tole, tassels, tureens and of course, toile de jouy.

I love visiting tea houses with friends, sampling different teas, eating scones with delicious jams, lemon curd & clotted cream. There’s always little finger sandwiches & yummy bite sized desserts that are hard to resist. If you’ve never been to a tea house, round up your girl friends and try it.
This white teapot is from a yard sale and there’s a red/white transferware teapot beside the sofa.
All through the house you’ll find trims, tassels and the timeless patterns of transferware.
I can’t resist pillows embellished with tassels and trims. If you find a pillow that you really love, you can always jazz it up with trims and fabric glue and no one will ever know you didn’t buy it that way.
Hanging tassels on knobs is just like wearing your favorite earrings! These tasseled pillows in a toile bedroom are a perfect spot for lounging on a lazy day.
Old fashioned hand painted tole trays can be found at flea markets and antique malls. If you’re really lucky you may find one at a yard sale. That would make my day!
Topiaries on the mantle can be decorated as the seasons change with ribbon, dried flowers ornaments, whatever!
I just love these things in my home. Every time I see them I smile. Is there a better way to make a house a home than to fill it with things that make you smile, no matter what letter they begin with! Home Sweet Home…….your nest.
