Thrifty finds give me a thrill….a lot of times I have to rely on my imagination when I find a salvage or castoff item….for example the mirror above the buffet was an old black mirror I had laying around. By adding lots of sea shells, I ended up with a new mirror for very little money….not bad for a cheapskate. {the buffet also is a thrifty find.}
Most of my rooms have something in them that was once in a thrift store, salvage yard, etc. ….I can’t bear to pay high prices for designer pieces…plus I love the hands-on- style.
I love taking the unexpected and turning it into something fun for the room.
I’m not sure what my style is perhaps it a “mash” up of casual-meets cottage- meets- industrial. I’ve always thought…if you like it you will make it work and it will be perfect for you.

I absolutely use thrifty finds at my house. My favorite is in my kitchen. It’s an old Coca Cola bottle crate. I stood it on its side, rolled up my dish towels, and stuck one in various spots. I love that it’s not a traditional use, that the crate is not just collecting dust, and that my towels are readily accessible.
