In early spring I begin venturing outside to some of my favorite stores, not just to bring home that fabulous new table lamp- but to glean from the stores vast array of design ideas for my home.
I look and try to learn from their displays – hoping to find an ideas I can incorporate in my home.
Things that Inspire me-
- Chic displays I can use as inspiration for design ideas.
- How they group pictures, books, and architectural elements.
- New color combinations.
- Use of linens.
- Unusual use of everyday items.
I used this idea at home in my Master bedroom.
This gave me a wonderful idea of what I could do to my Dinning Room chandelier, by just making a few adjustments I will have just about the same effect.
I find after a long day of “window shopping” my shopping bag is over flowing… with ideas that is.
Plus it’s lots of fun, doesn’t cost anything….well, unless you get a little tempted. Happy shopping.
Where do you find inspiration?

such a fun shopping place!
Teresa,
I love centerpieces with height and want to incorporate one into my dining space, however; my ceiling is a standard 8 foot high. How high can I go without it looking akward?
I have a hard time deciding what they are trying to sell versus is it an arrangement. I guess I just need to go with what I love. Thanks for the ideas.
i’ve been enjoying window shopping too lately. it’s certainly takes some self control to not buy a ton of things when doing so.
Hi Teresa –The number 2 photo — is a attention grabber for me — I love everything about it but mostly the framed photo having a light shining on it — it reminds me to make sure I plan ahead since I am building our house to have a photo lamp shine down on art work or like the number #2 photos shows shining down on a dresser or a table with framed photo and or art work — great ideas…
I guess I need to go window shopping, but where in my area??? You have lots of fun shops and great ideas.
I would love some names of local shops. When visiting my kids in Southern California, I have found some great shops, large and small. My favorite is Tai Pan, the same HUGE outlet that they have in Salt Lake CIty. LOVE IT!
