How to remodel a dining table

With just a little work and very little money- {Under $50} you can have a totally new dining set.

Sander Seal the Old Table – Step one

Using a sander sealer, spray all the wood. I used the type in a spray can.

Paint the Dining Table – Step two

Paint. I used antique white.

Cover the Old Dining Set Seats – Step three

Cover the seats. I used one painters drop cloth from Home Depot. {Just unscrew seats from chairs- staple new fabric to seats}

Rough Sand the Edges – Step four

Sand the edges for a “shabby chic” look.

Add a Protective Top Coat – Step five

Top the table with a polyurethane if you like {if you are using a light colored paint make sure to buy the non-yellowing polyurethane.}
And there you have it, a new dining set for under $50.

    Awesome idea. Very pretty.

    I would also fill in chair screw holes with putty, sand and paint to match. Or paint marker it for a quick fix.

    Mia- you can buy the sander sealer at Lowes or Home Depot- love the stuff, it works great- you can find it in the paint deparment usually next to the paint brushes and drop clothes. =)

    I did this same thing a few months ago to my table and chairs! However, I have never heard of “sander sealer”…what is that? I had to use white primer on my table base and chairs first because they were blue. I painted them antique white, and they look like a brand new set. I love the dropcloth on the seats…I didn’t think of that and wish I had!

    Love the before and after!!

    I am loving everything white (or light) these days… dunno, have done the dark and “rich” a bit too long.

    Great shot
