Fall Inspired Home Decor

I love the natural aspects that are so apparent in Fall Decor.  Coffee bean, fall leaves, popcorn kernels, burlap, twine, warm colors, and soft lighting… OH MY OH MY. Excuse me while I go fix myself a nice hot cup of spiced cider and  lounge back fireside… Well, maybe it’s not quite time for a fireside cider, but while I wait I can at least get the setting just right with fall inspired home decor. I don’t know about you, but my home doesn’t start when you walk in the front door.  Out door living areas are just as important.  And with all these great ideas, you’ll be looking for more spaces to decorate. If you live in a cooler climate, the weather is a great preservative for a stack of big, fat, orange, pumpkins.  However, if you live in a warmer climate; a faux carvable pumpkin from your local craft store may be the inspiration you need to get those outdoor areas fall bound. Source: My Heart’s Desire Well, this is my favorite and most used tip when decorating with the changing seasons.  Texture, Texture, Texture, is the key for a cozy setting.  It’s time to gather up all those unused baskets, and dig out all the cozy throws and blankets you can find. Toss one over the arm of your favorite chair, or roll several up and place in a large basket. Invite people to settle into a comfy seat by softening it up with a sweater pillow; the perfect way to reuse those old mishapen sweaters.

My Florida Home ~ I made the Cinderella pumpkins out of plywood and applied multiple coats of wet paint to blend the shades. In the windows I hung clear icicle lights behind long garlands of autumn leaves garlands to remind me of the frost on the pumpkins with the early morning frost of the north. The blends of reds, orange, yellows and greens light up my house and my heart with a warm autumn glow ~missing up north.
