It’s not too early to begin gathering supplies for your Fourth of July shindig. {shin-dig, noun: a usually large or lavish party} Today I have a list of both food and decorations. You know I had to also throw in an art project that you AND the kiddos will be proud of. Let’s waste no more time…it’s almost time to party!!!
/1/ Create a Lovely Patriotic Tablescape – Everything about this table is simply beautiful. From the bold stars on the tablecloth {that can be easily re-created with fabric purchased from your local fabric retailer} to the Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling {I’ve seen these at my local craft store} this tablescape is going to WOW your guests.
/2/ Blueberry, Strawberry and Jicama Salsa – Here’s a sweet alternative to your traditional tomato salsa. Don’t let the jicama scare you. Looks to me that it’s going to have a mild, water chestnut-like flavor and texture.
/3/ Patriotic Floral Arrangements – This, of course, would be one of the final purchases for your get-together but, they’ll make a beautiful impact on your table. Not pictured but, equally as lovely would be a bouquet of sunflowers.
/4/ Brave Printable – Head on over to A Little Crafting for the full details on how to print this beauty.
/5/ Festive Paper Straws – Paper straws are super popular right now! Add a simple homemade flag for an added touch of whimsy.
/6/ Drink from a Mason Jar – Surely this isn’t just a southern tradition. Am I the only one who would totally drag out all of my mason jars for my guests? Give it a try. Fancy them up with a ribbon and those above mentioned paper straws. {You’re welcome.}
/7/ Flag Hand and Foot Print Art – Hang it up over the mantle or lean it against the wall as a backdrop to your buffet table, this hand and foot print art will be a treasure for years to come.
What else would YOU add to this shopping list?? Let us know on our Facebook page or in the comments.
