I love this video. It’s part of Landscape Tips hosted by Ahmed Hassan on DIY. And I love that he shows us the right way to trim a shrub. But what if you need something more than hand shears or trimmers but your job isn’t big enough to break out the gas powered mega tool that you need your husband to start up anyway?

I recently tested a new two-in-one shrub trimmer and grass shear from Skil that weighs only 1lb. While this isn’t the tool you want if you really need your gas powered power tool, this one is perfect for small, quick jobs.
The Skil Isio combines cordless lithium ion technology with a compact, stylish design and it is 50 percent lighter, more compact, longer lasting and easier to use than traditional grass and shrub shears.
I also had my husband test it out. The handle was a little short for his hand. He didn’t find it quite as comfortable to use as I did, but he too thought it was handy and light. I was also pleased because with the grass shear attachment he no longer has an excuse for hacking up my flower bed with the weed eater!
Overall the tool is a great choice for moms and gardening enthusiasts who want to try a lightweight, easy-to-use yet stylish tool that offers some of the best new technology in lawn and garden equipment.
Skil is giving away this fab little tool to one Blissfully Domestic reader.

Okay, I admit that my husband does most of the big stuff. I’ll be the one pulling weeds and trimming little things, but he’s all about the engines and motors. Thanks for a shot at this prize, Katie!

It’s a joint effort between my Hubby and I. He usually does like the yard/lawn work. I usually handle the stuff in the garden. I love love love working in my garden. It is way of relaxing. I am always scavaging cuttings or getting seeds from the veggies to see if I can get them to grow.
My husband is currently overseas, so right now, all the outside stuff is my job…well, except for what I pay the neighbor kid to do! : ) Normally though, the inside of the house is my job and the outside is my husband’s.
My husband does the moving, weed eating, and trimming. I will prune the roses and tend to the flowers and tomato plants.

So far (and we’ve only been homeowners for about 5 months now), my husband and I do all the outside yardwork together. Although mowing the lawn, he handles that on his own.

My hubby has a severe allergy to pollen’s & grasses so it’s mostly up to me and the boys. While the boys maintain the lawn, I am the one who prunes/hedges our bushes. They also help me weed the floor beds and plant flowers. I hope to be able to try this trimmer!

We don’t have much of a yard, but when we move into our new house, my husband will do the bulk of it. He’s so excited! This would be a cool tool to have. Thanks!
My husband does NOT let me cut the grass, but he is horrible at all other upkeep, so that falls to me and I love it!
My husband does all the yard work, simply because I’m allergic to bees and I’m inside taking care of our baby. He works so hard on it and does a good job, a prize like this would be great!

My husband does all the mowing, edging and all the difficult stuff like digging the ground for planting shrubs and trees. I do the easy part like gardening, mulching and watering the garden.

The trimming video is very helpful. Now all I need is someone to come do it! The little grass clippers would be a great help to me as I have plantings the entire length of a 350 foot fence.
My husband mows the lawn, and I help with the weeding and trimming. I was just thinking today that it would be great to have something to help with the trimming. Thanks for the giveaway!
I do the yard work, I consider it my mental therapy! Gives me time to pause and appreciate the little things of beauty I discover there. The trimmer looks handy for i have some difficult to prune shrubs that would benefit indeed. Thanks for the chance at this giveaway!
We live in a condo so there is a landscaping company who does it but my Dad does all the landscaping at his home as well as my sister’s so this would be great for him. Thanks for the chance.
We work in the yard as a family. My husband and I both do the weeding, mowing, pruning. The only thing that I don’t do is edging. I can never hold that thing comfortably so I don’t try anymore.
My husband does most of the yardwork, but I help by weeding, watering, and picking herbs & veggies from our garden.

I took the survey! This trimmer would be great.
The trimmer would be great for me since I am the more detail oriented one in the family. How my husband doesn’t think it’s necessary to trim the grass between the alarm sign or the space under a shrub is beyond me!
