Plenty to talk about in this picture! But I picked it out with one thing already in mind.
Walkways. Have you ever considered trying to use some stones like this to create a landscape border? It’s really not anywhere near as hard as you would think. Finding the stones is half the battle.
What about using less common materials for the walkway itself? This walkway is just medium sized river stones with pea gravel or something along those lines used as a filler. The filler also locks everything together and provides a nice walkway. Looks great, easy to clean, unique!
My mother-in-law snagged a huge pile of mixed brick I had accumulated over the years. There wasn’t enough of any one style to do much. But she’s resourceful. She used all the various styles to create a mosaic pattern and filled the spaces between with concrete. It was a bit of work, but it looks fantastic and cost very little for what ground she covered.
As you begin to think about your outdoor area planning this year, I encourage you to think outside the “paver” box and come up with a unique and interesting walkway and border.

I absolutely love that picture. Makes you stop and think! Thanks for the inspiration!
Fabulous picture- can I live there? =)
Right now we have gravel walk ways- which are okay- but you’ve given me some things to think about for future walkways- thanks
