I have been dreaming of gardening and outdoor rooms lately (I spotted that fun chair in the photo above at a graduation party last weekend!), so when Home Depot sent me a $100 gift card to go shopping, I was over the moon excited! And when they offered to give another $100 card to a lucky winner, I knew I wanted you all to have the opportunity to go shopping too!
On my shopping spree, I found two gorgeous climbing Star Jasmine vines that were perfect for offering a little privacy to my back deck! And, oh my, how I love the fragrance coming through the screen on my sliding door! Divine! The plants don’t completely close off my deck to the view of the neighbors behind us, but it is a start. I absolutely love my new plants.

I had a great time browsing through the Home Depot gardening center, smelling the fragrant flowers and looking at all the pretty foliage, pots and trellises. They really had a beautiful selection of plants.
And I just found out Home Depot has an online garden club where you can ask questions, get professional advice and find all kinds of inspiration for your gardening projects! Check it out!
So, what wonderful things would you buy with a $100 gift card to Home Depot?
Answer that question in the comments and you’ll be automatically entered to win! One winner will be chosen at random next Wednesday June 10th. Good luck!
Thank you Home Depot for this generous giveaway!
THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED! WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON!

Regarding your giveaway from Home Depot, well, I live in Stockholm, Sweden so am not sure I have the capability to win, thus I would love to have some American stuffs, though.
Just wish me luck ยง:-))
Enjoy your Beautiful & Blissful Friday…

I would look for a special accent chair to put in my garden. The $100.00 gift card would be a wonderful start in purchasing this accent chair. sure hope I win!!!
As much as I would love to spend it in the garden, if I won, the $100 would go to buying materials for new kid’s furniture my husband plans to make this summer. We’re adopting and are working to get a special place all ready!
I’d LOVE to win $100 from Home Depot. I’m constantly working on my house. Shall i leave you a list of what I need right now?? How about a dwarf peach tree, a couple of dwarf pear trees, some primer and paint for my deck, a new counter for my bath vanity, floor paint for my shed, wood and compost to make another raised garden bed, I could go on but I think I’ve spent the $100 many times over already…LOL
Thanks for the chance to win, and love your blog.
It would go towards the new riding lawn mower we’ve got our eye on
Oh the number of things I would want to purchase! But, first on my list is new urns for the front walk. I have lived in my house for 5 years and every year I say I am going to purchase urns for the front…so far, I keep finding other things that are more of a neccessity.
Thanks to you and to Home Depot for such a generous giveaway!
Oops…forgot to say great post! Looking forward to your next one.
I could always use some more plants. My backyard is pretty homely.
Wow! I desperately need a new grill, so I would probably put the money towards that! Thanks!
Lots of boxwoods and an oakleaf hydreangea!!!
I have a lot of painting projects in mind for the summer, so I would stock up on paint first, and then with $ left over, I would get a cool Adirondak chair like the ones you pictured from the graduation party (and have another painting project on my hand because I’d want to paint it pink, of course!)
Thanks for the chance to win!
I just had to cut down a huge evergreen in my yard and now I have a big empty where the new “view” is my neighbor’s driveway! I love the idea of filling it in a bit with something like your star jasmine vines and maybe a nice trellis.
I’d love to buy some plants and a couple pieces of outdoor furniture. Or maybe just a swing to lie on and read while the kids play outside!!!
Gretchen N.
gretnel@hotmail.com
Enter me! I need a few new ferns for a shaded area and really want a few blue hydrangeas.
Paint!!! Also some lovely shade loving plants and a bird feeder or two with a hook pole!!! Isn’t paint one of the least expensive ways to *re*decorate????
Oh the number of things I would want to purchase! But, first on my list is new urns for the front walk. I have lived in my house for 5 years and every year I say I am going to purchase urns for the front…so far, I keep finding other things that are more of a neccessity.
Thanks to you and to Home Depot for such a generous giveaway!
I would put it toward patio furniture. I’d love to be able to chill out in my backyard.
I would like to buy rocking chairs for our front porch.
I think I would buy nothing but plants. Our Home Depot has the best “outside vendor” that works in the plants and she is always so helpful. Its like having a one on one with a Master Gardener!
$100 at Home Depot? Be still, my heart!
Hmm, I’d put the $100 toward stain for the deck floor of our newly painted deck at our lake house, some sort of flowering plant that would be a couple of feet high, but spread out to cover this triangular space that is on the point right over the lake (I see HD’s Garden Club in my near future!), or I’d add it to the $26.32 I have saved toward my new kitchen (that we have to do in the next couple of years!)…
That gift card would go for some crown moulding we need and a few other things to finish off projects! What a lovely give-away:>)
As always, thank you for your inspiring post. If I won the wonderful gift card I would buy plants, plants, and more plants! … daylilies, geraniums, lantana, and some kind of wonderful vine for my mailbox…oh and I need a tree..perhaps a crape myrtle. (Can you tell I live in Georgia from my plant choices?)
I’d buy a tree for our back yard. Probably an apple.
It would not be hard to spend $100 in Home Depot’s garden center. Star jasmine is on my list of plants to buy. Their fragrance is wonderful. Also a double red knockout rosebush and the soil amendments and mulch to go with it. I also want to upgrade my porch railing to that white vinyl. The balance would go toward that. Did you notice, I listed plants before home improvements?
Wow, $100 at Home Depot! We could use an umbrella for the table on the patio, some mulch, some stuff to clean the patio, a new kitchen sink, some pots and plants. The list is never ending. Enjoy your new plants and may God speed the sale of your home!
We’re in the process of buying our first home and $100 won’t get us far in all that needs to get done, but it might buy us some paint to spruce up the bedrooms.
And/or some plants to bring the home to life.
What a great giveaway
))) I would put that towards a new patio set. Ours is 13 years old, and in sorry shape! I love that chair from the grad party! Was that from Home Depot ?
Thanks again for your generous contest
Dana

Oh the things I could do with $100!! I would buy plants for my urns by the front door that are currently growing weeds
I would repaint the front door. I would install a screen door. I would buy lots of plants and herbs to make my back patio an oasis. I would buy some beautiful bird feeders and feed for them. Oh the list goes on and on…….
Oh, if Home Depot has any wicker furniture, I am looking for some~ If not, I am needing some paint for a chair and hutch project and would put it towards that!
Oh, how I love those Star Jasmine vines! If I were to win this $100, I wonder how many of them I could buy?
oohh, oohhh, ooohh!!! I love this giveaway! I would buy as many flowers and veggie plants as I could get! =)
Kathy
What a wonderful give away. I could use that for decorating the “new” house when we move to another state. Love those colorful chairs, it is such a fun design. Maybe I could be that bold.
I would probably get more knock out roses, or mulch, or chairs for my deck. There are just too many choices.
Hugs,
Cathie
Being new homeowners and newlyweds, our eyes (and dreams) are bit bigger than our wallets these days. Right now we are focusing on working on the yard, and a $100 gift card to Home Depot would probably go right toward making our deck a comfy hangout spot for ourselves and our friends. We entertain alot, and we have our eye on a ‘conversation set’ to spend the late evenings watching the stars.
I would love to have more roses for my garden. This spring I planted two yellow ones and they are just loving the sun in my front bed. Thanks for the opportunity.
Charla
Thank you for the opportunity from Home Depot!
With a son in college and a lot of medical bills, I can think of a lot of things we would do…some that I would want (more roses, shrubs and flowers–a girl can never have enough beauty surrounding her!) and those we need. But there is one that is at the top of my list.. a faucet to replace the ugly, drippy faucet in the upstairs bath. It is REALLLLY bad!
Happy Friday!
Debbykay
Our home is newly constructed and so we have very little landscaping. I would love to build an arbor and add some plants. I think that is what I would use the gift card. Thank you!
Jackie
Those pictures from your daughter’s graduation party are beautiful!! I know you will be glad when she moves to your new home. I have a son who graduated last year, and when he moved away to college (only about an hour away), I thought I would die. He is my baby.
If I won the $100.00 gift card, I would probably buy paint. My daughter’s room, now my ironing room, needs to be painted and become my GRANDdauhgter’s room. Kyleigh is now 5 months old. Her daddy is leaving for Iraq next week on his second tour of duty, and while he is gone , I hope she and her mother will come to visit often. Her daddy’s favorite color is green, so I’ve decided to paint the room a soft green. I already have a bumper pad and quilt from Pottery Barn Kids. They are bright pink and white rugby striped. I think she and her parents will like the colors, but I am mostly concerned with what she likes. After all, she is my first and only GRANDchild. She is my other baby.
I just don’t know where I will put all my piles of clothes to be ironed!
I would buy flowers. Thanks for the giveaway!
I would buy some plants for my butterfly garden. I created this space around a tree we planted when our dog died four years ago. Yet there are very few plants so far. So many plans…so little mula! Anyway, you can see the garden from my kitchen window…and I’d just love to get started on the “finishing” it off! Thanks!
We REALLY need to paint our dining room and my sister gave me her formula for the perfect color and it just happens to be from HOME DEPOT. I would use any extra on window blinds as one son’s room doesn’t have any yet! Hope we win!!!
Phyllis
I would buy supplies to put in raised garden beds on my patio.
I would buy soaker hoses, basil, tomato cages and a sprinkler. And I would still probably have seventy bucks left to buy something fun for myself. Oooh, I would buy a bunch of spray paint too. Because it’s garage sale season and so many good deals are waiting to be tossed in my trunk and then coated with paint.
I would purchase some beautiful plants for my bare back yard.
My husband and I moved into our first house in January, so we need a lot of things! We just started diong a bit of landscaping, but I still need some gardening tools and more flowers! What a great giveaway!
We’re in the middle of building an addition onto our house – a new laundry room/pantry. I’d put the $100 to good use for pantry shelves. Plans are for one 8′ long wall to be floor to ceiling shelves.
Where do I start? There are so many projects on our list this summer. I would use the $100 gift card toward installing new baseboards, adding new tile to one of our bathrooms, and doing a little more landscaping!
Thanks for the opportunity.
Oh, a gift card from Home Depot would help to solve my patio problem!!!!
My concrete patio faces west and gets very hot under our Texas sun…….and my grandchildren have a real problem keeping shoes on their little feet when they are going out to play. I would love to have an outdoor area rug so we would all be able to run for the grass for the next waterballoon fight.
Hugs, Barb
I would use the gift card to purchase flowers to spruce up our landscape, a hose to water them and storage containers to help with all our extra stuff inside.
This is a wonderful giveaway. Thank you Melissa and Home Depot!
I would love to buy some new shrubs to replace some overgrown ones!! Thanks for the chance to win!
On my current wish list: 2 apple trees, a honeysuckle vine, a cushion for the porch swing, some more mumms…
I need to replace the 3 knockout roses that I killed this spring, some hanging baskets and some more flowers for the planting bed in back that we started this year.
I would buy the dirt, mulch and plants to complete our current landscaping project. My husband built a fabulous retaining wall and raised bed on the side of our house – but the budget last month only allowed for the brick and supplies to build the wall. Now I have to wait for more money to fill the bed in!
We are in the middle of redecorating the kitchen! The $100 would really help with the trim and baseboards that I am waiting to add!
I need a new patio umbrella, the wind had a field day with ours.
I would love a new patio umbrella, some cushions for my patio chairs, or new faucets for all of the bathrooms.
My husband and I are buying our first house. It’s a new construction, so we will need everything! From window treatments to paint to landscaping. We need it all!
Oh the plants I could buy with that $100!
I would love to buy planters and beautiful plants to spruce up our bare backyard this summer! I always seem to put the backyard on hold so we can spend the money in the front garden.
We just removed four dead boxwood bushes from our front yard, which is now in desperate need of something new. I’d love to have a Home Depot gift card to spruce things up again!
Star Jasmine vines SMELL DIVINE – I would LOVE to own them. We also jut bought our 1st house – we want a shovel to get down deep to get rid of the shrubs that we do not like in order to plant new. Gardening is a new love for me – we just moved from CO to the Southeast where you can actually grow things – but $100 would go FAR with me because I would get the MOST bang for the BUCK that I could – all things plants and veggies and herbs and flowers.
Thanks!!!!!
Nicole~
I would make my deck a happy place. With 4 boys aged 10~6, not much gets done for Mom. I would love to have a pretty little escape on my deck…and I love those star jasmine plants in potters, I could so pull off that same thing!!! Thanks for considering me!
I would buy paint and some accessories for our little girl’s room! I can’t wait for her to get here.
We REALLY need to paint our dining room and my sister gave us the perfect color formula from HOME DEPOT. We also need blinds!
Phyllis
I want to make the side yard of our home a fun “kids-only area” for my girls. Right now it’s a concrete slab and a bunch of weeds! I have some old rocking chairs I’d love to spray -paint a fun color, I want to paint a chalkboard area on part of the fence, hang a real wall-mount mailbox for secret messages, and plant a garden with them.
DEFINITELY do the climbing vines thing–our deck is extremely “visible” to our neighbors and I have really been wanting just a touch of privacy so I can have coffee on my porch in the morning!
I would have to buy paint so that I could finish the nursery for our little guy coming in September and I would buy some plants to fill in my flower beds! Thanks for a great giveaway!
Melissa: What a fun, fun give-a-way!! I do “thingst” I would purchase a few large pots & some greenery, OR, a gallon or three of paint to repaint our office!
I love Home Depot. When we purchased our home here in Houston, we were given $1000. from Coldwell Banker. Best gift ever!
Happy Weekend Melissa!!
I am just getting ready to re-do our guest bath. I need a new light fixture. Mirror framing pack, towel racks, curtain rods, bead board, cabinet pulls and PAINT…OH MY GOSH I need paint.
GIVE ME THAT CARD.
Give me two, please and thank you.
I would love to buy some mulch! I know that sounds boring but this is the first summer in our new house and there are tons of stickers! In fact my little girls fourth word was “stick-a”! I don’t want to do too big of a lawn (water issues in West Texas) so I am slowly digging up the stickers and tumbleweed and putting down mulch. But mulch is soooo expensive! $100 dollars would be great to help with my “mulch” war against the stickers and tumbleweed! Love the website! Keep up the great work! The pink chairs in your last post are AMAZING!
I would love to make my patio area into a little peaceful, quiet place~ and also hide the views of neighbors houses.
I love what you did with the potted plants- that is such a great idea. I would also love to put a trellis in with a beautiful climbing plant! Thanks for offering such a wonderful give away!
I would use end up using it to buy all the odds and ends that are inevitable during a move! We are a military family heading back to the states this summer – YEAAA!!! And with a new rental house, we are guaranteed to need lots of new stuff from Home Depot!
)
We’ve spent many trips this spring back and forth to Home Depot working on two gardens, but now I’d like to work indoors. I’d spend it on paint for two rooms in the house – redecorating my bedroom and the family room! High Hopes!!
I would buy some paint for my guest bedroom and use the rest towards a miter saw so we can install some crown molding.
What wonderful things?… hummm… I would buy a grill. Yes. A red, shiny, yum-inducing grill.
And put corn on it first chance I got
I would buy huge pots, soil, and some new plants to add to the ones I have already.
I’d buy a new ceiling fan for my kitchen!
I would buy my husband a new router. He really needs one!
We are in the midst of remodeling a 109 year old home and are officially on our last room! The previous owners “remuddled” it and we need all new spindles for the staircase since there are none. I had no clue how much those cost-yikes! We are also starting the landscaping at the same time since the weather broke-I could easily use it towards landscaping as well.
we really want to grow some tomatoes this year but our back yard is a back concrete so we need some pots and dirt and plants. if we got big enough pots, maybe we could even grow a pepper or three…
we are doing a deck to patio redesign! Have wanted to for 3 years but oldest daughter announced engagement then….and 2 in college since….
vacationing less these days, so want to enjoy our backyard and perennial beds!!!
Thanks so much!
My fantastic husband is making a great set of built-ins in our den so that I have a place for my sewing and monogramming. The Home Depot gift card will go a loooong way in beadboard, cabinets, and shelving.
What would I do with a gift card from Home Depot? Get the materials for MWT (man with tools…isn’t that a cute name for hubby? I saw it on a blog and promptly stole it!) to build me the shabby dining table of my outdoor dreams….and the sofa back table to match for behind my wicker sofa! Thanks for offering this fun giveaway!
(love the star jasmine plants!)
I lost my job of thirty years the end of May and had not bought mulch yet, so I would buy that and other necessities.
We rent…and have the most fabulous landlord. This will probably be our last year here and we’d like to leave a nicer backyard/patio area than when we moved in…I’d love to do some planting around the patio and yard for her…and we can enjoy it while we’re here..
I’ve got some cornices in mind for my front room (currently window-treatment-less), and I just need to buy the lumber. I’d also like a new chair on my front porch so that I can sit and read during the upcoming pleasant summer evenings.
We are about to move into a new house, and we have picked out their new corn carpeting. We also need paint, a new washer/dryer, and some patio furniture. The list is endless!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE your blog! It is so awesome and has such great ideas. i absolutely love Home Depot. I thought I was the only woman who could spend hours and hours in Home Depot! LOL! I sure do spend enough in there! So on to what I would like to do with the card, I have 6 kids (4 bedrooms) I have been redoing slowly (It gets kinda expensive to do it all at once) … That sure would help with that! By the way, keep the awesome ideas coming! i LOVE THEM!
Love your site! I would use the $100 toward patio furniture. We are using a rickety wood picnic table and benches at the moment.
Ooooh. What a great giveaway! I am a huge fan of the Home Depot! We would probably replace our solar lights with brighter ones, add a rose bed, and more supplies for our vegetable garden.
I would spruce up our generic looking patio (you know the kind–concrete slab, old grill, nothing green or living except some weeds). I want a backyard retreat now that I have a backyard! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
we are remodeling our new to us 100 yr old family home…hoping to move in in september. we HAD a budget for landscaping…but that is long gone now. we would use the gift card to get the yard in order…plants, solar lights, maybe some paint for the picnic table…
Without a doubt, I would buy some lumber to make a picnic table! We need a good place to eat dinners outside now that the weather is heating up. Thanks for the lovely photos and the giveaway!!
It is a joke at my house that Home Depot is my favorite store now. We are working on so many projects that it’s hard to decide what I would buy. We need sprinkler parts, mulch, and plants for our front yard. We are replacing our rotted out back deck so we need lumber, nails, stain, and vinyl railing. And I can always use spray paint!
I would buy some more cushions for patio chairs that will brighten up the whole patio area. The ones I currently use have faded from the sun and I would love to get some more in bright lively colors. I love your chair and the bright green pillow! So Pick me pick me.
Our backyard is one big empty page. With a pool in the middle of it. So all of the neighbors can see this momma climbing up and over a ladder ten times a day with the young ones. $100 would allow me to dress up our yard and give us a little privace so that I can stop scaring the neighborhood children and feel like our backyard is actually a place to retreat to. Oh the thought of it!
There are so many things I would love to get at Home Depot! Since it is summer time I would probably get outdoor stuff, to spruce up our yard. You know–the stuff you never have money for! Thanks for the chance.
I would buy primer, paint, and brushes so I could paint my front door. Right now it is a dull shade of white. But, I think it would look amazing painted brick red. All I need are the supplies!
Let’s see… I would look into materials for our front repair project, but if I can’t get hub to commit to that this summer then it would be patio furniture for the back, or possibly fencing for the side yard. We have plenty to do!
Oh, I am wanting to put shutters on our house we are saving up right now so a gift card would be a huge help-thanks
Oh where to start……I would buy paint, plants, new cabinet handles…….the list could go on and on!
I would rush right over and purchase lots and lots of new perinneals to freshen up my garden.
This spring we moved from an apartment where no plants could survive to a house filled with yard space outside and natural lighting inside! A Home Depot gift card would be amazing to purchase some much-drooled-over plants for our front porch and back yard! If I prioritize my list and money stretches nicely, maybe some more potting items to increase my vegetables-in-a-pot garden that’s just barely starting.
I love Home Depot. They have the best customer service of any of the other hardware/garden shops around here. And their plants last! I hate it when I buy a plant only to get it home and it’s icky the next day. If I won, I’d buy lots of flowers for the upcoming graduation party. I’ve been picking up a few here and there, trying to ease the pocketbook into it.
How wonderful for you that you had such fun! You deserve it. (hugs)
Blessings… Polly
I’d love to buy some beautiful flowering plants to spruce up our yard for summer.
Simple. Bathroom re-do that I have been planning, and trying to figure out how to finance. Thanks for the opportunity!
I’ve been wanting to build my daughter a sandbox, so this would be perfect. I’d also love to get some materials for artsy projects around the house. Thanks for the giveaway!
I’ve had my eye on some things at HD to spruce up my lanai! Pillows, a rug, lamp…lots of plants!
With a $100 giftcard I would probably buy some more plants (I’ve had my eye on some jasmine as well!) and maybe a couple of chairs for the deck!
Thanks for sharing about the garden club, I’m going to check it out right now!
We have to reside a house. We can’t really afford it. So we either have to sand and scrape to try to salvage the current siding for another year or two or maybe win this card to help???
Thanks Melissa.
Katie
So many things on my wish list! Probably a new lovely kitchen faucet to replace the ugly builders-grade faucet that I spend so much time with.
Oh what fun! We’ve been working to finish off our basement (family room, laundry room, bath, etc) for 6 years, as we have the funds. It would be such fun to go pick out something for my laundry room, we’re getting close to finishing it! Thank you for sharing!
My husband and I just got maried 8 months ago and we just bought a house 2 months ago – ahh! It is definitely a fixer-upper – concrete floors and dirty pink/green paint in the whole house. Now we have new floors and paint mostly everywhere, but our .9 acres outside is natural Tucson desert covered with nasty Cholla cactus. With $100 from Home Depot, we could get a great start on a patio so we can enjoy the desert evenings and grill without getting a painful prick. Thanks!
With a $100 from Home Depot there would be lovely petite colorful flowers adoring the exterior of the sidewalk. A solar light or two to show the way to the front door. Maybe some latex paint to accentuate the doorface. And, some roofing material to repair a slight leak.
I would defnitely buy some jasmine (and a trellis) as well, for a blank wall in front of our house…I love how it smells!! I would also buy paint for our master bedroom. We just moved in and our bedroom feels like a motel room!
I peak in at your blog and enjoy your ideas and photos. I’d love a a chance to purchase more perennials and shrubs for my yard which had to have a complete makeover after we built an addition to our home. Thanks, Manja in Utah
We just had a tree removed from our front yard and I would start a flower garden where the tree used to stand.
I have a project that I want to complete – wall art. I’d spend my 100 on some quality wood…and some fantastic fabric and then have some art!
I’d also buy some paint for our all white walled new house.
I’d get some plants for the garden….
I’d…… well, I’ve already spent my 100 dollars.
So much I’d want to do.
I would buy paint for our new house (we are in the middle of selling our old one right now).
I would love some beautiful flowers and plants for my front porch as well as my new yard to be. I’m moving this summer (a military move) and have already had to find a new home for the flowers/plants I had (sniff, sniff).
Paint for our kitchen cabinets. And probably enough insulation to finish the attic — we’ve been supplementing the insulation up there a few rolls at a time, as we can afford it.
And a trellis for my climbing rose! (That’s the exciting one!)
What a great giveaway! Thanks to Home Depot! We would buy new light fixtures for our master bathroom! So long ugly gold strip lights!
Thanks for the wonderful blog.
I just found a steal of a deal on urns for my front porch and now I need bushes for them. A Home Depot gift card could help me justify the bigger size bushes – yippee!!!
BTW – love that patio and all those gorgeous colors!
What a gift that would be. Our Landlord has just now given us permission to do things at the house we are renting. My backyard is huge but barren of plants and trees and the like. I am growing baby lettuce in a pot because up till now, that’s all we’ve been allowed to do.. I would love to be able to buy potting soil and vegtable seeds and plants and a chair or two to sit and enjoy the night air, the morning sunrise and the cranes that walk by our yard every few days. Bright colors and dirt on my fingers, the sun streaming down, the gift card would make all the difference in the world to this little plot, my little home. Thanks so much for offering it in the first place. Collette
Upon winning the $100 Home Depot gift card, I would purchase beautiful, natural stone for a patio that I want in my backyard. It would provide a great solid foundation for my backyard oasis.
I would use it to buy paint. My folks are coming to visit over the 4th of July weekend and we are painting my living room 2 shades of yellow. A darker shade above the picture rail and on the ceiling and then lighter yellow below. I would also use the left over money towards new blinds or curtains. what fun!
We would buy the paint, we are planning on painting the exterior of our house this summer…or maybe we would buy new exterior lights for the garage. Either way, a $100 would help beautify our home.
There is an automatic hammer thing that my husband has had his eye on for some time now. I would love to be able to surprise him with it – and then maybe surprise him with a follow-up honey do list for him to ‘play’
Any leftovers would go to some gorgeous new pots for my houseplants that are getting too big for their current homes.
I would by pavers to build a patio and some new plants to spruce it up!
I am in the middle of redoing our front entryway yard on a shoestring budget, so $100 from Home Depot would go a long way. I have everything done except for the mulch and one large focal point tree. Right now, it looks like an uninviting island of low growing plants in a sea of rocks. I so need something to pop!
Gosh what wouldn’t I buy. Trying to recall my running Home Depot list in my head, plants for the backyard hill. pretty outdoor pillows for my table/seating area, paint for my kitchen cabinets, a new rug for my dining room, light fixture for the hall, paint for my front porch, gosh my list could go on and on.
We are planting a hedge of dwarf arborvitae along one side of our yard and they will be punctuated with mock orange bushes (talk about scents!). We thought about fences but decided that a softscape was the way to go with homes for birds and lots and lots of green. This gift card would be such a big help to us.
If I won the $100 Home Depot gift card: I would buy paint as all the walls in my house are white & I need some color. Or I would buy flowers for my yard. As my yard needs more color too.
Oh, I would be thrilled to win a gift card to Home Depot– what shopping bliss! I would get supplies for a spruce up in my bathroom. Thanks for the chance!
* Oh I would DEFINITELY use that towards HD’S “labor charge” to install their “built-in-ironing board”~~~ been wanting to do that for ages, but darling DH is NOT a “handyman”!!! Thank you for letting me enter… Linda *(bellesmom1234@comcast.net)
We’d use it to buy flowers. We just finished an additon to our house and had to rip up all of our perrenials, shrubs, etc. Our yard is one big mud pit and in desperate need of some sprucing up! The Home Depot gift card would be appreciated!
I would use the money towards some large planters in my back yard. I LOVE large planters and, since they are a luxury for me rather than a necessity, I never buy them.
It couldn’t be a better time for us to win $100 gift card from home depot… we are in the middle of re-doing our back yard! We just planted grass, got some block for flower/veggie beds and we still need more…. so I would buy more block to finish off our back yard and we need trees too!!!!
I love their organizing section, I’d probably go crazy there. I also need some wood, so hubby can build my girls a big doll house!
Maybe a new stove.
They have a fabulous little patio set on sale for $99 right now – just what we need!
I would love to add a couple of rocking chairs (with beautiful pads) and a small table to my covered front porch. I have just recently discovered the Inspired Room by Melissa and I enjoy every post she has made. She has lots of wonderfully beautiful ideas for your home and yard. Thanks for you great web site.
I have to be honest…I would not be buying something directly from Home Depot. I would give the card to my dear, dear son-in-law and daughter. They are under stress after stress lately and Home Depot is my s-i-l’s favorite store and my daughter would love to spruce up her apartment a bit, if it were possible. So I would give them the card and they would decide what to spend it on. This would be really nice for them.
BTW, Melissa, I am so awful. I love your blog but only came in to comment when there is a potential reward. So sorry….but know that I am your faithful follower.
I would purchase some plants for my empty window boxes!
The great majority of our landscaping is edible, and I’ve been just dying to build some wooden raised beds in order to tidy things up a bit. That’s definitely what I’d use the gift card for!
Paint and flowers, flowers, flowers!! I need a few more sunflower seeds and some pentas, carex and maybe an evergreen to add bones to the garden. We could use some pine nuggets, too. Or, now that I think about it, a nice little table for the porch would be great, too!!
I don’t think a month goes by that we don’t spend some time and money at Home Depot for one reason or another!! I’m off to dream of the possibilities afforded by a gift card!!
I would buy plants and flowers. I have so many ideas of things that I’d love to do on my patio- that gift card would really help.
We are moving out of state next week, so I can think of a dozen uses for a home depot gift card. We will be installing closet shelving, needing a rug, lots of organizational stuff etc…
I’d get new edging for our flower beds. They are currently surrounded by this colonial blue fake picket fence plastic stuff that is very tacky looking.
I’d like to buy some veggies for my garden but I’m sure my husband would buy another tool
Thanks,
Maureen (jnomaxx at hotmail dot com)
I would use a HD gift card to purchase stone edging for my flower beds. We added the beds last year and I think the edging would be just the right finishing touch.
If I won the $100.00 I would definitely buy plants and trees for landscaping. Our backyard is very bare and isn’t very pretty for backyard entertaining.
Thanks for this giveaway!
Traci
Oh, I LOVE the star jasmine, too! I might buy some climbing roses for the patio corners or check out their trellises. Or a couple of New Guinea Impatiens hanging baskets in a glorious hot pink! Such a nice giveaway! Hope I win!! Thank you and thank HD!!
$100 would help get me started on the flagstone patio I plan to put in this summer in the back of our house. I love Home Depot! I really wish those jasmine vines would grow here!
The climbing star jasmine looks very wonderful. It would be great to have something fragrant. I would probably buy some new cushions for my patio furniture.
I agree that being able to spend time outdoors this summer, is something I am looking forward to. Home Depot is where my family got our decking material and several, several of the shrubs and flowers that we put into remodeling our backyard. I need color as well on my deck, with cushions and pillows, once I get those, I never go inside rest of the summer.
If I won $100 gift card from Home depot, I would buy all the flowers, and vegetables, that I wanted to buy for our garden but couldn’t afford this year. I’d even try to buy a nice flowering bush for the corner of the back yard that looks bare.
Hello!
I love gardening thanks in part to my wife. I would most likely get a new
cushion for my wife’s deloved wicker swing & a pillow to match. thanks. have a lovely day! — Mark
My dad likes to garden and last Father’s Day I bought him a bunch of flowers for our front garden from Home Depot. Not only are they well priced the flowers themselves were very pretty and high quality. A Home Depot gift card is the perfect gift for a man or a woman!
A great place to buy Home Depot gift cards and other gift cards is giftcardrescue.com. They have deals and promotions on gift cards and a great selection! Check it out!
I would put it towards buying some outdoor seating/patio furniture! We have a lovely yard (if it ever warms up enough to sit in it!) and it would be nice to have something other than the rickity old web chair to sit in
oops ‘beloved’ …. LOL —- Mark
If I had a $100 Home depot card I would buy some stones to make a patio under my deck. That is my summer project.
Hostas, ivy, hydrangeas…my favorites to add to the garden!
We are getting ready to move into our first home, so the possibilities are endless! Although, we have an amazing outdoor living area in our new home, so we’d love a grill and some patio seating so that we can enjoy the rest of the summer outside.
I want one or two of those fragrent star jasmine plants for our patio! If I had any money left over I would treat myself to some of the bathroom accessories at Home Depot I’ve had me eye on but just not the money to purchase.
Well, after I wrestled the gift card away from my husband, I’d buy paint to redo my living room! I so want to change the color, but the hubs says that “it’s fine”. With my own money, there’s no way he could tell me no! rofl
Been wanting to spruce up our kitchen with small things like new cabinet and drawer handles and new paint. Those small things really add up! A $100 gift card would be a big help!
I’d buy the man a new wheelbarrow for Father’s Day! And maybe a pretty flowering plant to replace the one on my front porch that he thought I was watering and I thought he was watering. Poor, poor thirsty plant.
I would definately get something for my patio, maybe an outdoor rug and some new pillows. Or maybe some more flowers, the possiblities are endless!
wow. $100 at home depot. i would probably check my *list of things to do* for our house and figure out what $100 would do. more than likely an indoor project. shelving. painting. new faucets. thanks for this fabulous giveaway!
jamie
If I won the Home Depot gift card I would buy summer flowers for the large pots around my pool. The geraniums that are currently in the pots have died in the Phoenix heat. I have 6 large pots so it takes lots of flowers, which can be costly. I would love to replace them before it is over 100 degrees!
Melissa, love what you did with your deck. I hope you’re settling in to your new environment.
Oh, I know exactly what I’d buy ! I’ve got my eye on two gorgeous fiberglass urns for my front porch, but they’re not the exact color I’d choose – they are a wierd copper shade, so naturally my love for spray paint will transform them into some chic and expensive looking lovely planters for all to oooh and ahhhh over. Don’t forget the stunning evergreen that will go inside, and some trailing lovely greenery.
Pick me !
Kate
It would be so hard to decide what to buy..It would take me a long time walking around but it would be pure joy! I would love something for the patio and yard but that faucet needs replacing..or maybe the paint to paint the family room…. Well could you give it to me and I would love the chance to really decide… Isn’t Home Depot the best!
There are only 2 spots in our entire backyard that receive full sun ALL day, the deck and the patio! I would buy an umbrella (or 2) and some stuff to spruce up the old, used patio furniture we have. Pick me!!!!
I know exactly what I would buy. A white ceiling fan for my daughter’s room. It is on our “To Buy” list for her room redecorating project. Thanks for the GREAT giveaway!
I would buy new tile for my bathroom!!!
I absolutely LOVE those chairs and the bright green squishy cushions. We used to have the same Confederate Jasmine growing at our home in FL. I’m wondering if I could put it on my back deck here in NC? You’ve got my wheels turning…thanks for the idea!
Paint, paint, and more paint! Some lighting, new knobs for the cabinets, and maybe a rug remnent for the living room. Oh yes, did I mention paint? And curtain hardware! And paint!
If I won a $100 Home Depot gift card…
I would buy some Knockout roses and some nice annuals to plant in our yard. I’m a newlywed and our yard has some nice trees – cherries, dogwoods, paper birches, and japanese magnolias – but there’s not much in the way of summer color. I love to have a yard full of bright, cheerfully colored flowers.
Though it would be hard to pass up the plants in our Home Depot’s garden center, I think the $100 will go towards the lumber/stain for creating the laundry drying trellis that I’ve been oggling over for months. I even have the morning glories started for climbing up the sides.
If I won the $100 Home Depot card:
I would purchase some vegetables for our square foot gardening plot and brighten up our little playhouse with some colorful plants and some new paint. I’d also add a few more plants to our deck planters and improve the irrigation system on the deck to include all the new pots.
If I won a $100 gift card from Home Depot…I would go crazy trying to think of what not to buy….there are so many things I want there, but I would probably go with flowers, mulch & soil. I really want to work on the curb appeal of my house. My neighbors all have such pretty yards & mine, well like I said really needs some curb appeal. I would love to win.
plb8156@aol.com
I’d buy some crown moulding to put above my windows in my living room, maybe an area rug, flowers… or maybe some things needed to spruce up my bathroom. Sure would love to win this! Thanks for the chance!
I would either invest in supplies that I need for my garden or replace the vinyl tile in my laundry room!
I would purchase some lovely large planters and some potting soil and plants. I cannot get enough herbs in my life!
We are in the process of adopting and need to build an additional bedroom for my teenage son as he gave up his room for the baby. I would use every last cent to buy supplies needed to convert his temporary shower curtained off bedroom in the basement into a real built bedroom for him.
My boyfriend and I just moved into our first home a week ago today!
We are in desperate need for some storage in the kitchen, so maybe some cabinets. And now that we have our own yard, definitely some beautiful flowers and veggies… and a windchime so we can sit on our porch together and listen.
We’re so blessed to have a place of our own, but still have a lot of work ahead of us.
*Crossing my fingers!!*
I would purchase in season flowers to liven up my front yard this summer.
We have a completely blank front porch that is full of potential. I would definitely buy some seating, planters, plants, and some outdoor pillows/cushions to make a great outdoor room.
I would give the gift card to my husband to buy whatever he needed for the yard or himself.
Stepping stones…! Oh, I would love some stepping stones in our muddy and “not so pretty” path to my secret garden. I’ve been a Home Depot fan for as long as I can remember. That’s where I get all my garden lovelies and necessities… Did you know that they also would plant your plants and provide the soil if you purchase the pot along with your plant? Yes, isn’t that wonderful?
You have a beautiful blog… and I’m glad I’ve found you
cielo
So, what wonderful things would you buy with a $100 gift card to Home Depot?
I would really like to get some new patio furniture for my back porch. I would love it!
We’re renovating our kitchen right now, so I’m sure there are about a hundred things I could use this on… Probably knobs for our cabinets though. How exciting!!
If I won I would buy some closet organizer stuff for my kids closets
stuff to finish our back yard – we started a paver patio last year and ran short of $$.
Oh, I’d love to win this, since I’m in those stores all the time anyway. I’d probably get a good start going on a walkway I want to build. Love your new plants, Melissa! Those will be perfect for screening.
I have a list of more things to buy than I can get with a $100 gift card.
I would love some nice boxwoods to plant around our yard, I would like a ceiling fan for the back patio, I would like a patio table, I would like shelving for the garage…but most of all I have been coveting the kitchen cabinet organizer racks with pull out drawers! Ahhhh…:)
We are moving into a fixer upper in five weeks and I’m not going to lie I would probably spend the money on a new sink!
We moved into our house a year ago and there was no landscape in the yard. We are trying to landscape our backyard so, I would buy plants & trees with $100 gift card!
I have been wanting a fire pit for our patio. That’s what I would look for even though it may be fall before I have a good night to use it. Hot dogs and smores! Yumm!
My first thought would be to furnish our porch with a hammock. It is large and plenty of space for some relaxing in the shade.
Oh if we won a $100 giftcard, we would go buy crown moulding! And of course, more paint
Thanks for the giveaway!
I’d buy some concrete stain to perk my patio up, and then some new, bright, fancy-schmancy outdoor pillows for my porch swing
I would definitely buy more paint! I spent $100 there over Memorial Day Weekend, and that was only for 2 rooms!
I would buy some paint to spruce up our front porch furniture and rockers along with some colorful outdoor pillows. An outdoor rug for the porch would be wonderful. Thank you for sharing this giveaway!
Plants, plants, and more plants! Thanks for the inspiration and the giveaway!
We close on our new house on Monday and have many projects lined up. Funny enough, almost everything we are buying will be from Home Depot! We are getting new allure “wood” flooring, we need lots of paint since we will be painting every room in the house and we’ll be getting new countertops for the kitchen too!
Thanks for sharing the photos of your friend’s back yard garden. It’s beautiful!
I’d buy a few container pots and add a herb garden to my deck! <3
I just had pergola put in, so I would definitely use a $100 gift card to help decorate it!
I’m getting ready to move and will have a great back yard…but no back yard furniture. I would use the gift card for some great outdoor furniture!
First off…LOVE your blog!
I need this gift card! We bought our house last fall and have so many projects we’re still trying to budget for. Now we have a baby on the way too and need to get crakin’ on a nursery soon.
Did I mention my backyard is sad, ugly, and needing major attention?
Those pics are gorgeous!
We sure could use some privacy in our backyard, too! I would buy some plants and maybe a tree.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to win!
I would put it toward the pavers for my front walkway we are going to put in.
Thank you for the chance to win!
I would use the gift card for a ceiling fan for my husband office…he works at home now and we have discovered that our upstairs is rather hot!! thanks!
Oh, wow. We have NO landscaping, so I’d start with some small bushes for the front yard.
Outdoor furniture! I love lounging outdoors, but currently we only have outdoor dining chairs (with no table!)
I would buy paint for a red front door. I would also buy paint for my bathroom and the kid’s bathroom and moulding to frame the boring builder grade mirrors.
a fountain for my back patio.
Well, this isn’t the most exciting purchase but we are in desperate need of a storm door / screen door…it just has not fit into our budget yet. If there was any money left over after the screen door I’d buy the paint and supplies to rehab a beautiful thrift store hutch…hoping to begin that project soon.
Thanks for such a great giveaway!
I would buy some herbs and pots. I would love some berry plants too.
Hmmm…I think I would snag some plants like your jasmine as well! I could easily drop $100 on plants!! Or some fun patio furniture like the BHG Challengers got!! Where did your friends get those awesome chairs?!?! And congrats on your daughter’s graduation!
I would purchase some screen to help finish off my mother’s back porch. That would make me very happy!
We are sprucing up our backyard, so I would love to buy bushes, flowers, and trees. So many ideas. . . . . . .
I have been slowly redoing our backyard so that it can be relaxing and beautiful. I could easily spend 100 dollars at Home Depot to continue my project especially since my husband has put me on a spending hiatus!
So many choices… paint and plants would be on top of the list!

You have to see the disgusting faucets in our master bathroom. Half the gold has peeled off to reveal the silver color underneath, and now they have started leaking. Sigh. You know where my $100 gift card would go!
I would buy mulch and pine bark to put around my trees, as well as plants to place around the mailbox. I have quite a few bare spots in my back yard and would purchase pieces of sod to fill them in and with whatever would be left over, I would buy a one or two solar lights to showcase it all.
I think I’d try to find some climbing jasmine just like that for my back deck. I love it! Great giveaway. Pick me, pick me!
I would use the $100 gift card to pick up some cabinet organizers, like a roll out shelf for lids and one to hold cookie sheets and pizza pans.
If we won the gift card we would get a ceinling fan for our guest room. My brother-in-law and his wife are coming for 2 weeks and our air is not working!!!!! Please throw my name in the hat!!!:) Thanks!!! Pinky
I’d buy paint. (we need to make our house ready to sell.)
I would buy lanscaping supplies, flowers, plants, and bushes to spruce up our front yard. It definitely needs it!! Thanks.
I love flowers, especially perennials. I would buy more! I love to see how they multiply year after year.
I would install a ceiling fan in the living room with lighting! I would also repaint; I had water damage from a hurricane!
For the past two years I have been working on the outside of our house. We started with rebuilding a wrap around porch, then a patio, then a retaining wall. Then mix in all of the plants I have planted! This coming week I am starting on the other side of our house. This $150 gift card sure would come in handy for this project!
Here is a link to pictures of what I have done…
http://deputyswifebighouse.blogspot.com/2009/06/plants-are-taking-over.html#links
Thanks for the give away!
I would definitely use it for a new kitchen faucet.. I am doing a mini rehab on my kitchen this summer!
oooo, I NEED some new fixtures to bring my home into 2009. Thanks for the opportunity!
oh my! we desperately need to finish our landscaping. that stuff gets sooo expensive so quick. not only would it be a gift for us but for our neighbors also. they have had to put up with the lack of curb appeal our yard brings to the neighborhood. please pick me and put us all out of our misery. btw–just found your blog and lovin it!!
ps. i’m not above groveling, begging, or pity. that’s how much we could use this.
I would buy more greenery for my poor desert of a backyard & porch! Thank you!!
shasta daisy, hydrangias and hostas….all my favs
We’d buy: tile, a bathroom fan, a bathroom sink, a light fixture, mirror, or shelving/towel racks for the bathroom that we spend the afternoon destroying!
I’m currently living overseas, but I would love to send my parents to Home Depot with such a gift! I know they’d like to start getting some new patio furniture. They’ve had the old stuff since I was a kid! And then we could enjoy it the next time we visit!
Oh tons of things! Dirt, pitchfork, beaded board for the dining room…
)
Oh my, that is generous! And your choice is gorgeous!
I don’t have one flowering plant on my property right now. Just soil beds and a tiny little vegetable garden started by a friend. It would be a dream to get something in bloom to pretty things up! My budget simply won’t allow it this year. Ah well, I can always look at your jasmine at the very least.
Thanks for the chance!
Plants, plants and soil- our yard is looking horrible and the neighbors might kick us out of the neighborhood if we don’t get our act in gear. Sometimes it is hard living next to “gardeners”.
I’d buy some patio furniture/decorations for our little patio. It’s looking so forlorn with just an old lawnchair on it . . .
We have an UGLY fluorescent light fixture in our kitchen that I would love to replace, so that’s where I would spend the $100!
I’d love to buy lots of herbs and vegies for our backyard- I’d also like a trellis to train our climbing beans on- my daughter’s first time planting and she’s so excited to see them grow!
What would I buy with $100 at HD? That’s easy…trees! The home I moved to 3 years ago and which is surrounded by nothing but Ponderosa Pines DEFINITELY needs some deciduous trees!
Redo the bathroom, put up patio pavers, paint……….
I think I would buy some plants or some hanging baskets or a small patio table with two chairs. The wrought iron sets in white are what I am thinking of. I don’t know if Home Depot carries those or not.
I do like your jasmine plants also and would need some containers and new trellis’ for them.
Thanks for offering the contest!
Shirley
How exciting…First I would get a couple hanging baskets for my back patio, then I would like to get some beautiful planters for my front door area if I had any money left over I would grab a can of paint for my kitchen…
With a $100.00 HD gift card I would buy 3 hanging baskets of Boston Ferns for my front porch, then I would choose some bedding plants for the area in front of my porch.
My mailbox could use some marigolds around the base. If I just had some packs of seed, I could grow some daisies or other tall plants to fill up the area in front of my porch. I used to plant impatiens every year, but the ants liked to eat them before they got too big!!
Thank you for sponsoring the contest.
I would go the garden route easily if I had a $100 HD gift card. I’m in need of some boxwoods to create a barrier above a retaining wall so my boys won’t be tempted to jump from it. I also need a few iris to balance out a small planting area. I figured tht I would just divide what I had in a year or two, but the giftcard would sure speed things up. Oh, and I love love love planting impatiens around our oak tree, so I would get a few flats of those as well. Thanks for offering this giveaway!
Love the Home Depot Garden club cant wait to try some new thing out.
What a great contest thank you!!!!!!
I’d love to give this card to my husband for Father’s Day. He’s been wanting a new drill and I don’t dare pick one out. I’ll get it completely wrong.
What a wonderful gift! I would love to be able to use it for a gift for my husband! wow!
I’d go for a new light fixture or mirror for the bathroom or grab a few beautiful, flowering trees to plant in our back yard! We’ve been wanting to relandscape the front of our house too, so a gift card like that would definitely help get us our start!
Ooh, everything I need to get my garden growing! Plastic sheeting, plants, poles, and I’d put together the fence to go around it!
I would get all the needed “extras” to put a new window in my pantry and decorate it.
I would buy plants! We’ve also moved this year and need to add more than the builder basics for privacy and prettiness.
A swing or some lawn furniture, definitely…or a garden bench…or a fountain…hmmm…yes…definitely one of those! Thanks for hosting a great giveaway! ~~Rhonda
I’d probably get a truckload of mulch to smother all the fox tails it my yard. Or maybe a new watering system for my vegetable garden. Or maybe lumber for more raised beds. I don’t know, there’s too much to do! Thank you!
Right now, we have no yard and are in the middle of a huge landscaping project! So I would buy rocks, and dirt, and bricks, and grass seed, and rocks, and plants, and mulch, and rock….exciting isn’t it?!?!?!?! =)
My urban garden could use an umbrella or a canopy. a water feature? perhaps a tree.
wow! my mind can’t even comprehend what i would get with the gift card – i think i would love to get a small fountain for our patio..to add some soothing sounds that would also come into our living room..thank you for the chance to win this.
They look beautiful on your deck. I must say we were just discuss what we need to do for more privacy and this is a beautiful idea. I would definitely splurge my $100 GC on flowers and outdoor accessories. Its that time of year and with the HD great prices the money will go far.
thanks for the giveaway.
I am jealous! I love the jasmine! And since I am in a similar situation as you I too get to dream and have faux gardens on the deck. I just recently purchased Lavender and Spicy Greek Basil and Mother of Thyme to begin my potted herb garden! Enjoy the time with your daughter! and Hmmm…I could finish my herb garden for $100!
I love Home Depot, and my kids really like the race car shopping carts! It will be a sad day if those ever retire. I could really use a wheelbarrow for some of the landscaping work I’m doing this summer, as well as some plants.
What a wonderful giveaway! I am just now starting out in terms of figuring out what to do with landscaping (instead of the lovely weeds I grow so well). The gift card would be a bice way to help with inspiration & experimetation with plants.
OH they look so pretty, They say white flowers at night under a full moon and by candlelight just glow, and with the smell, how romantic. I would love to win the HomeDepot $100 shopping gift card. I would buy some tropical looking plants in order to with stand the heat and dry weather of the summer and also to hide from the neighbors, or I just might like to try one of those star jasmines.
Good luck on your deck. Thanks again.
SweetSouthernGal-Phyllis
Thanks for the great giveaway—hmmm….what to buy, what to buy? Ooooh, I know…patio paver stones to cover the ugly cement pad that’s there now. I would create a beautiful new patio (have the furniture, thanks to Goodwill and spray paint), maybe add some black lanterns and a couple of plants and then sit back and watch the kids play on the swing set, all the while sipping sweet tea and loving my new oasis!!
Love the jasmine!! We have privacy problems on our deck too. It’s a bit weird to be sitting on the deck and have the neighbors on theirs since they’re all of about 5ft from each other!! ={
I’m feeling the urge to go to our HD to see if they have them, but the gift card would be awesome since there’s no $ to buy them without it! =D
A lounge chair for the patio so I can enjoy the summer weather!
I would love some of those wonderful oil filled tiki torches for our backyard parties this summer….and possibly, an outdoor rug! Love your blog!!
Our basement flooded and had to be gutted. So it would probably go to new paint!
That would be a blessing since we have had to pay out of pocket to fix everything…
I’d buy new doors for our bedrooms. The people that owned the house prior to us painted them with an oil base paint that is now peeling off. It is so difficult to sand them that it would be more efficient to just replace them.
I would use a $100 gift card to buy plants and shrubs for my new home’s landscaping.
Thanks for this opportunity.
Betty G.
blue.eagle@cox.net
I would love to build a container garden. I have been reading alot about them and planning how I would build mine.
Love your new plants! Great idea for the deck. Wow! What couldn’t I use $100 for? Yes, things to spruce up the deck, maybe a new grill, even, but window shades for the bedroom I’m finally decorating would be nice, prettier lights for the bathroom, porch paint and paint for the front door, and so on, and so on and so on…. Thanks for sharing your ideas the opportunity to spend some $$$!
I would buy outdoor lighting. I would love to give my front door and garage a makeover!Of course there are many things I could/would buy but that would be at the top of the list!
Seeing as the sink in our bathroom vanity was just recently damaged beyond repair, I would definitely put the gift card toward another new bathroom vanity. It’s been a few weeks now without this vanity and it’s becoming a royal pain!!
Oh my. We just moved into a fixer-upper (not too bad, but needs some work still). One of the first things on my list? Paint! Whoever lived here before us had some… interesting ideas. Case in point: my son’s room has four differently-painted walls. And none of them even really coordinate much. Yikes!
Honestly, the first thing I would purchase is a new front door mat. The current one is from Christmas!
Then, I would purchase some more succulents and paint.
Enjoy your jasmine. This has been a first purchases in both of our homes.
I love the fragrance!
Dee
Oh my gosh… where to start. Since we are in the process of moving into our new house, I have a wish list a mile long: Chalkboard paint, silver spray paint, FLOWERS!! for my new yard!!, oh and we need a new grill. John bought one- he got a $40 Home Depot gift card for his birthday and Home Depot had a great 4 burner gas grill for just $199.00 , so he went and bought it on the 29th- right after he signed on the house. He apparently needs more practice at the tying down purchases for our house part, because he called me a short time later from the side of the highway where he had to pull over to collect the not new anymore grill. Even that misfortune couldn’t change how blessed we felt that day, but now a grill is back on our list. I know I couldn’t get it ALL but it would make a dent.
I could spend that money in a SNAP!
I’ve been planning a butterfly garden. I could use so many things to put my plan into action. Just today I bought several plants that butterflies LOVE. Lantana in Confetti and Red. Buddleia in PINK! Bee Balm and a plant named Angelonia. And some that I just love. Veronica. Coleus. Verbena…scarlet red with white eyes! I also picked up the best smelling herb…dill, and some curly and flat-leafed parsley for butterflies. These two herbs are considered “host” plants for butterflies.
Now I need a butterfly house and the Home Depot gift card would be a blessing…
Thank you, Home Depot, for blessing Melissa with her beautiful Star Jasmines.
Hmmmm……I would add a bird bath and some flowers to my garden. I love to watch the birds and maybe that would attract even more!!! XXX Annelies
It would go towards the little shaded area we are fixing up with a bench and bird feeders and plants that smell lovely. So we can sit together ,hold hands, and be happy we found each other again after so long.
Oooh, thanks for this opportunity. We used to practically live at Home Depot, but have cut back our spare time there drastically. If I were to win this gift card, tho, I would finish off a bunch of my “recycled” projects: I have a couple of old chairs I thrifted from the curb that we will use as holders for potted strawberries. They need a beautiful purple-y blue paint, and DH needs some materials to function a holder for the pots where the seats used to be. Secondly, I have a section of old lockers that I got at a garage sale for $5 that needs to be cleaned, de-rusted, primed and painted to become a headboard for my daughter’s bed
Finally, we want to replace our old metal uprights/railings, etc on the front porch with wood to better suit the house… and we need wood and paint for that.
We miss our favorite store; thanks again for theis chance!
We’ll be moving to a new home soon so i’ll have a huge list of things – hopefully a new patio set!
We’re bringing back to life a 220 year old farmhouse in upstate NY so I’d spring for some cool light fixtures for the boys wing of the house, which is currently being worked on.
Wow!! there are so many things I would like to get from Home Depot. Some plants for my backyard, paint to work on so many of my projects, an electric sander
the list goes on
No money to put flowers out this year. I’d buy some new pots and beautiful flowers to put in them. My house looks so plain this year.
We’re moving into a home that needs some TLC, so I would have no problem spending that gift card! It might go towards paint to freshen up the interior (gotta love Behr paint!) or plants for the overgrown yard, or even stain to touch up the deck. I LOVE Home Depot!
We desperately need to replace our old bathroom flooring and would love to use those peel and stick tiles to do so. To win a Home Depot gift card would mean being able to buy those tiles and get that started.
Let me think: new kitchen faucet, or maybe some new bathroom faucets, or a new light fixture.
Although, I could do some damage in the garden center
I think it would all depend on the mood I was in when I got there.
My son has asked me to make him a cacti terrarium for his room – so I’d start with the plants for that. Where to go next? My weakness it the garden center but I do need to paint my living room this summer too! Jen
Wow, this is awesome. Let me think…..whenever I go to Home Depot I always check out the garden section. I would probably look at the trees-something for shade. I would love some mum plants for fall-orange ones. Maybe yellow too.
I need an outside porch light for the patio.
Lastly, last month hubby and I were looking at new front doors at Home Depot. Maybe the entire $100 would go towards that?
This is so cool, i don’t have monies in the budget to get plants this season so i would start with a rose and hanging planters full of flowers, I like the little glow animal turtle and i would try to find one and my airconditioner needs two wood gate surrounds to keep my beautiful grandson i watch from being so curious about. Thanks again and heres hoping for.
I would buy some potted fruit trees and plants to fix up the patio of our rental–something portable!
I’d definitely want to buy some stuff for my garden, and by garden, I mean my balcony and the area just inside my windows. I live in an apartment, so my gardening is pretty limited. I’d like to build some better shelves for inside my window to keep more plants there. Also I have pretty much filled up the floor of the balcony with planter containers, and I’d like to try building some planters that would hang off the outside edge of the railing, but I’d need some pretty secure brackets for that. My boyfriend dissed my idea of using bungee cords, but I’d still probably share half of the gift card with him so he could buy some better tools than what he has now.
We’ve been wanting to put lattice underneath our back deck…so I would purchase the “plastic” lattice…so it would never have to be replaced!!! What a sweet give-a-way…thanks!!! Happy, blessed Sunday to you!!!
Oh, I love Home Depot…..I can think of so many things…..a new brushed nickel faucet for my bathroom, some annuals to refresh my planters and of course some white and creamy white paint also I love Jasmine so could get one of those to run along my fence.
How sweet of you and Home Depot to have this giveaway.
Would love some more plants for the outdoors…. and redoing my 2nd bathroom so new light, facuet, flooring, toilet…
LOVE the pictures of the backyard – so pretty!
I would absolutely love to shop for some shelving for my baby boy’s room. He will be arriving in September and I want his nursery to be just perfect!
I would use my gift card to buy a new chandelier for ove my kitchen table and some pendant lights to replace the OLD track lighting I presently have in my kitche. Love Home Depot! dpierce2007@comcast.net
More Plants!!! Started a veggie garden for the first time ever, so I’d get more plants (because it’s addicting) and all the things I didn’t think of: tomato cages, trellis materials, start my worm farm!
Oh I would love this give away!!! I have no patio furniture for my back deck and this would help out my very tight budget. My anniversary is the 11th so this would be amazing! Love your blog-thanks for all of the inspiration!
I just had my bathroom remodeled and EVERYTHING came from Home Depot! Now I would like to move onto another bathroom and purchase a new sink and faucets…..the gift card would sure be a blessing!
Hmm… so many options.
New knobs for the cabinets, new plants for my annual garden, a thermometer for the porch, shelving/organizational units for the bonus room.
The list goes on and on!
Thanks for hosting this!
Your Star Jasmines are beautiful & appear to do the privacy trick nicely!! Did they come in those containers, too?!
I just spent ANOTHER $50 at Home Depot this past week updating my flowers. I’d love to get some more, along with some of their Behr Premium paint (the best in my opinion!) to paint the kitchen (red) & bath (sage). And there’s ALWAYS things inside & outside of the home to fix, update, or add to from Home Depot!! WISH, WISH, WISH $100 would cover it all!! hahaha But it would be a great help! ;O)
Oh, and thanks for reminding me about their Garden Club! I saw it advertised in their store and figured I’d check it out at home online (had spent enough time in the store trying to figure out how best to use my tiny budget for flowers!!) and had completely forgot!
AND CONGRATS on your daughter graduating AND having her back home!!!! =]
Home Depot is where i get ALL my remodeling needs. I would get lightbulbs since a few just went out, some paint since we just ran out, staples for our staple gun to finish my projects in need, and some other much needed items
Thanks and hope i win!!!!
{{Hugs}}
Paint, paint and more paint! These primed-only walls are starting to get to me.
Or maybe plants for the yard.
Or a chest freezer.
Or. . . . . . . .
I think I’ve overspent the budget I don’t have, so the responsible thing for me to do is stop here.
oh, what fun! I would buy paint to finish my boy’s room makeover, and plants for my empty flower bed!
Plants! I just spent $150 on plants and soil and could EASILY spend another $100. But, $150 was our budget for landscaping, so we are done buying until possibly the end of season sales…maybe. So, I would LOVE to win a gift card to Home Depot for more plants!!! It’s a big weakness this time of year.
What a wonderful opportunity to do some shopping for my screened porch! With all the wonderful things available at Home Depot, I could buy some stain for my porch floor, possibly some cushions, possibly a outdoor ceiling fan, maybe some plants…
I could go on and on with my wish list to make my porch an outdoor “living room” since we use it at least six months out of the year. Right now my porch is very “TIRED” and “WORN” and doesn’t inspire anyone to linger, read, or nap.
With $100 I would buy plants for my backyard, or a chair for a our patio. We just bought a house and I am looking forward to making the backyard an inviting space.
Oooooo, this is hard! Well, with preparing to sell our home to then remodel (read as: basically gut & start over) my folks old ranch, what will we NOT buy is much easier to answer. Plus starting home schooling in the fall with our 3 yo DS, WOW! We could spend several thousands at HD and still have more to go! We are trying to be good stewards (one loan out at a time) so we have miles to go before seeing the end product. But God is good and faithful, and all He is asking of us is to trust him and keep going.:)
I’d love to add a little whimsy to my garden and brighten it up a little. Thanks Home Depot!
I joined their garden club last year. They send discount coupons and advance sale notices along with all the gardening info.
I’d get a new chandelier for my foyer.
It may not sound very exciting, but I would buy new, extra long, heavy duty water hoses.
Thanks for a wonderful giveaway opportunity-
Laura
I feel Home Depot and I are connected at the hip. I am in there at least once a week. What would I buy? I always have a list of things I need from there. Lately it has been plant related although I am also trying to put up panels of curtains on my covered porch,(fasteners, screw eyes, cable) spray paint my patio furniture, fix my armoire door that came off its hinges (wood putty, new screws) etc. etc. I would have no problem spending that $100 and would love to give it a try!
I would love the chair above from Home Depot and some beautiful flowers for the front yard. We also need to touch up the paint on the front door and garage door and restain the back porch. $100 would be awesome!!
SOOOO many things I can think of that I need, but at the top of my list would have to be— paint for the living room, some annuals to spruce up my very bare front porch area & some patio furniture; sitting on the concrete gets pretty uncomfortable after awhile! Thanks for the post, loved seeing your pictures!
I just planted a small garden and would love to plant more vegetables. And now I would love to buy and smell a pretty climbing jasmine plant. Thanks!!
Your graduation decor came out so lovely. I bet everyone commented on it and enjoyed the evening. I am a real Home Depot person and try to do many household repairs myself.
I have asthma and have been saving to redo my bedroom and bath more “green.” I’d like to paint with the new safer paints available and change the flooring. I’m also afraid of mold in my shower. Thanks for this opportunity.
Debra
I would love to redo my bathroom and this would go a long way there. A medicine cabinet would be my choice
Thanks
matternu@aol.com
I would buy some paint for our house- we are taking down our yucky wallpaper (so I’d need supplies for that too!)
If I won the giftcard I would buy supplies to build my son a new fun toybox! I can’t find any that I like anywhere and my only option right now is to make my own with my own hidden and non-existent talent. I know what I want, I guess I’ll just have to figure out how to build it! It would be fun! Hope to win – what a great giveaway. AND I love your vines, very private.
Plants, plants, plants! We, too, are in need of a bit of privacy from our lovely neighbors. Plus, I’d liek to plant some veggies with my 6 and 3 year old. Thanks!
I love your colorful pillows!! Thats exactly what i would probably go for as well. Something to help “lovely up” my patio.
TTFN~~Claudia
I never win drawings but I’m feeling lucky today. Great giveaway!!
Oh’ my – what a $100.00 gift card would mean to me, my husband and I have been working part time jobs due to job market right now, praying that full time employment would come soon for us. We are stretching our $’s right now. Home Depot is one of our favorite stores when we had extra to spend. First I would let my hubby pick him out something for Father’s Day. Then I would go to the garden center, choose an outdoor flower pot pick pretty plant, then if I had some money lift over I would get some outdoor cushions. Our out door room would like so much better, and we would be so thankful.
I would buy some hanging potted flowers for my front porch, new doormats for our front and back doors, and new chairs for our patio.
I would get my hubby a new grill!
I would buy some copper pipe and fittings, a slate tile, a small water pump, and a planter box and make an indoor/outdoor water fountain! I’ve seen how to make them on a tv show, and every time I walk past the copper I think I need one on my patio… I’d also like a couple of flowering plants for our planters too…
We are starting a backyard lighting project, and a $100 gift card would be a tremendous help right now!! Given that we have a baby on the way (our first!), we are trying to budget as much as possible.
I would buy things to make our back deck a beautiful, relaxing outdoor space! Adding some furniture and plants would be awesome! Thanks for a great giveaway!
I’d buy the patio table to go with the chairs I already purchased from Home Depot and a bunch of soil and mulch. Yay! Or, I might buy a ceiling fan instead. I bought all my hardwood floors from them and it was the best investment ever. Great quality.
I would definately buy some more plants. We just built ourselves a 50×4 foot retaining wall that needs to be filled in.
Oh my…I am on a first name basis with the paint department people at Home Depot. Sad, but true. If I had $100 to spend, I would buy more paint as I am starting my daughter’s bedroom makeover.
Blessings,
Marie
Those star jasmine are the perfect solution for our deck privacy problem! I’ve looked at all kinds of plants/trees but most were too bushy or slow-growing. Thanks Melissa! A $100 gift card would be put to good use!
Becky
Hmmm, that’s a tough one! There are so many things I’d love to spend $100 on a Home Depot! While I’d love to splurge on a new dining room fixture (and start with that money), more than likely I’d be practical and use the winnings for our fence repair project. Part of it blew over in a hurricane last fall and we officially need to replace it now.
Thanks for the chance!

Oh I would love some climbing Jasmine for my deck. Please enter me. Thanks Melissa for this generous give a way!

I am working on starting my own business as a Professional Organizer. I would use $100 at Home Depot for some basic supplies for my first “real” organizing project (not my own home) – a master bedroom closet and dressers for my mom. She’s been sharing her home with my brother’s family for the past 2 years (after they lost their home) and her home is now overrun with things for the 3 grandkids. She & my father deserve a space designed just for themselves.
a $100 would be spent on some paint so I can finally paint my ‘white’ kitchen!
somehow that project always gets bumped to the bottom of the list when more important bills or new tires come up…
I would get a rail for my front porch or shelving for all my books that haven’t found a home in the two years since I bought my house!
I would love 2 large planters to place in front of our door. Our front yard is so “ugh,” and I really think those would go a long way to sprucing things up!
I would buy a large ceramic pot for storing the water hose.
I would buy some MDF & Supplies to revert a coffee table into a bench seat. I would also buy some paint to refinish a kids table & chairs.
My husband and I would use the gift card toward a stone patio we have been wanting to put in our backyard to entertain friends & family.
Wow! we’d either use the card for a partial privacy fence so we felt like the kids were safe playing in the backyard for a few minutes while we ran into the house or we’d use it as a jumpstart to dig out a big hill that has been a drainage problem- and build a retaining wall!
I would buy a gorgeous blue/gray paint for my bathroom, a couple of hanging plants for my porch, and some chalkboard paint for a ton of diy projects I have been wanting to try!
Wow! My husband and I would use it to by some patio furniture so that we could enjoy the gorgeous backyard in our new first home!
We need a new fence. Ours is about 30 yrs. old and falling down. $100 dollars is a start, right?
My husband and I would replace some of the pipes under our house. They’re springing leaks all over the place! EEP!
what a great giveaway! I would love to put that $100 toward some patio furniture so that we could enjoy our backyard more this summer.
I would buy some paint to finally paint all the rooms in my house 1 year after we moved in!
I would buy more perienial flowers, my yard was visited by a hungry rabbit and made a meal out of many of my plants
I would use it toward some much needed new patio furniture.
I would really enjoy a gift card so that we could make a paver stone pathway from the house to the garden area. We have to cross quite a ways to get there and it would make it so nice.
oh how wonderful! i bet you had a blast shopping!
if i get the giftcard i would go buy some 4x4s and have hubby build me a 4×4 raised garden since i don’t have any space living in a condo!
thanks for the running the giveaway!
I would love to buy some pine trees for my backyard – 4 of them to be exact!
Thanks for the chance to win this card.
I would purchase new outdoor cushions and some colorful flowers to brighten up my deck.
We would use the money toward plants and mulch for our yard.
I would use the card to furnish my first apartment!
I would buy paint to spruce up my aging home.
Beautiful plants for the border of our yard…or maybe $100 worth of mosquito repellant.
I would buy some new pots to put (also new) plants in on my front porch. It looks so lonely out there!
Oh what I would do with a FREE $100 at home depot!! Well my husband and I bought a new townhouse and in it everything is very builders basic. Not normally a problem but our fixutures horrible!!! So with $100 I would replace all the overhead light fixtures in the house as well as in our 2 bathrooms…I think it would really spark up the place!!
With the $100 gift card I would buy chalkboard paint, outdoor chair pillows, more plants and pots and maybe some more paint for our master bath.
A girft card would be a terrific start to revamping my tired backyard oasis! I am in need of some perenial flowers and patio furniture for sure. Of course I’d be distracted by the endless list of things I find there on each trip. Thanks for sharing this chance!
I was JUST googling what I want for the backyard! We just finished our new patio last night and I need something tall and lovely, and hopefully sweet smelling. So I want what you have! Star Jasmine. Perfect.
If I won I’d spend it on updating my kitchen cabinet doors. Thanks for the chance.
This time of year I dream of new flowers to add to our yard and I am thinking about adding a patch of lavender so I would probably do that. We never have trouble spending money at Home Depot!
I really like that chair too! I think I would buy lumber for a new trellis.
I would use the money to buy some hydrangeas for my front yard since it sees no sun. Plus buy some waterproof cushions for my chairs on back deck and lighting for my back deck. We spent some time making our front porch nice and now the neighborhood isn’t doing so well and we have to hang in the back.
I think I would use the $100 to buy the supplies needed to start a little vegetable garden. I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile so this might be the push I need to get started.
I’d love to buy some plants for the flowerbed in front of my porch. The ones planted there don’t like the conditions and I would love to move them and replace them with something that thrives in that spot.
I would buy shiny black and red pots, potting soil and white flowers to decorate the front of the church for my daughter’s upcoming wedding. THen I’ll give away the pots and flowers to my dear friends who are so generously helping at the wedding!
