Every year BILLIONS of drink pouches end up in dumpsters and landfills across America.
TerraCycle has found a unique way to convert those pouches from garbage to resource! With the help of pouch producers such as Capri Sun and people just like you, more than one million pouches have been saved from landfills via the Drink Pouch Brigade™!
For every pouch that you send to TerraCycle, 2 cents will be donated to a charity of your choice. To date, more than $25,000 has been donated to schools and community programs nationwide! (For more details visit the Drink Pouch Brigade FAQ page)
Ideally I would like to see the amount of waste that we generate decrease so we don’t have overflowing landfill problems and all the other problems associated with accumulating garbage but until then…. This is a pretty ingenious way to convert “garbage” into a usable resource and thus saving virgin materials from being used.
In honor of Earth Day, Capri Sun is giving you a chance to win a book bag, folder, and pencil case that were once Capri Sun drink pouches but are now unique usable items thanks to the folks at TerraCycle.

Love this! I spent a summer making purses out of these. It was my own little summer business saving the earth!
loved wat watching the video, and I might try to make my own “copycat” project with my kids. What impressed me the most was that the company is expanding, and donates to schools for the pouches collected.
I tried and tried to get this video to load and it won’t. I found terracycle.net but .com ended up being an actual cycling website.
I think this is an awesome idea!! My kids drink hundreds of these during the summer and I always wondered if there was something else these little pouches could be used for. It’s great that Terracycle is taking the time to find new and unusual ways to use these products rather than letting them take up room in the landfills!

Okay, I actually got the video to load, yeah! I thought it was impressive that they have 800 locations for the drink pouch brigade. I also was amazed with how many times the drink pouches have to be cleaned, which is definitely a good thing.
