You may be wondering why we’re talking about shoes on the Green Living channel but I can assure you it all fits together! I bought a pair of OKA b. shoes a few years ago and they immediately became my new favorite flip flops for a couple of reasons: OKA b. shoes are vegan-friendly and recyclable! Made in the USA and designed not only for fashion but for comfort as well, these are shoes, that well, love you!

And the more I learned about them, the more I liked them from the standpoint of being a conscientious citizen. From their blog I learned that they encourage their customers to send their old, worn out shoes*, back to the factory to be ground down and reused!

its all part of that OKA b. circle of life. All the shoes that do not meet the highest quality of inspection get put aside everyday, as well as old pairs that customers send us, get ground up. Some of the grind is then mixed in with virgin grind to create brand new pairs of OKA b.s.  Some of the grind end up going to companies who use it to make various goods such as kitchen mats.

*But trust me, wearing out a pair of these is not easy! They are highly durable.
