Christmas will be here before we know it and with Christmas comes Christmas lights. Home Depot is helping people recycle their old incandescent Christmas lights. For each strand of incandescent lights you bring in (up to 5 per customer) they will give you $3 off of LED Christmas lights.
Here are some reasons to make the switch from incandescent to LED:
- LED’s are cool to the touch and greatly reduce the risk of fires.
- They can last up to 10 years longer than incandescent.
- The amount of energy used by one 7-watt incandescent bulb is enough to power 140 LEDs, which is equal to two 24 foot strings.
- Most are Energy Star qualified.
- They use 80% less energy than incandescent Christmas lights.
Home Depot even has information on their website for how they will recycle your old lights! So if you are still using incandescent bulbs be sure to go to Home Depot before November 15th to trade them in for LED.
