You may have seen this sign on some of your local stores. The 3/50 Project is sweeping the nation. It’s a project designed to try and save local businesses. They are asking you to pick three locally owned businesses and spend $50.
You may think you have to spend more to shop at locally owned stores but this is not always true and you almost always get better service. Also did you know for every $100 you spend at a locally owned store $68 returns to the community? When you spend that same $100 at a chain store only $43 stays in that community! So when you shop locally you not only help local businesses, you help the community.
If you want to learn more about how you can support local businesses visit The 3/50 Project’s website. If you own a local business you can sign up on the website to be listed as a supporter and check out their resource library.

That’s a really cool idea! I much prefer shopping locally and haven’t been in Wal Mart for close to two years.
