I love me some free – and I love me some green – and being green for free makes me more of the green…. this sentence is getting away from me …..
Everywhere I look are products to help me be more eco-friendly – some are good, some are merely “greenwashing” and trying to cash in on the current antibiotic RBGH free cash cow, I’ve figured out 3 ways to be Earth happy on the cheap.
1. Instead of spending the money on a low flow toilet, throwing out an older toilet and clogging a landfill even more – put a full container of water in the tank (like one of those water bottles I STILL occasionally end up with) – even a small bottle placed in a low flow tank can help save water one cup at a time.

2. I’m a little odd and like the feeling of toothpaste – makes me feel like my teeth are getting really clean without a bunch of water – so I put the toothpaste on a dry toothbrush, brush, fill my cup with some water, take a drink, swish, spit, done (and don’t go telling my dentist I didn’t floss – he knows).

3. Do nothing. What? Do nothing. The organic sheets from Pottery Barn are beautiful. However, I already have 3 sets of sheets for my bed and I can only really use one set at a time – so passing up up on the organics is one way to keep my clutter and consumption down… and gives me more money to spend on yarn.

I really like your last point. Part of going green is to reduce consumption so if you already have something (or 3 somethings) don’t buy more.
Good Post!
