June is here and with that comes Father’s Day. Even though many think of Father’s Day is just a “Hallmark Holiday,” we could probably all agree that dads deserve at least one day of recognition.
Don’t just give Dad a tie this year, why not fill his toolbox?
In our family Dad is the one responsible for the majority of home repairs, this may be true in your house, too. Does he have all the tools he needs to get the job done? Maybe he needs some new ones? The following tips will help you purchase the right tools just for your favorite Dad!
- Toolbox
This should be the first place you start. What kind of toolbox does Dad have currently ? Could he use an upgrade? Make sure you get one that will meet his needs. There are many different styles and sizes available at your local home improvement or hardware stores. - Home Repair Manual
Ok so technically this is not a tool you hold in your hand but it is an important one nonetheless. It can be a great tool for Dad as a quick reference when tackling an unexpected home repair. Most repair manuals have the same basic information so make sure you purchase that fits Dad’s style and includes clear graphic displays. - Pliers
Pliers come in all shapes and sizes and serve a variety of different functions. It would be worthwhile to grab a variety of pliers such as cutting pliers, gripping pliers and crimping pliers. These will serve most household needs. - Hammer
Hammer is one of the most common used tools for home repairs. The best hammer to have in a claw hammer as it can remove and drive in nails. Also consider, rubber mallet and ball-peen hammer as well - Laser Level
This might be a slightly more on the expensive side, but Dad will love it! It takes all the guess work out of hanging decorations, pictures, etc. - Wrenches / Sockets
If Dad does any auto maintenance, he’ll need a good set of wrenches. There are many newer all-in-one sets that may fit his needs perfectly.
This Father’s Day fill your dad’s toolbox with the tools he needs. Just don’t forget to give Dad a day off, too. Wait until Monday to hand him the honey-dos.
