If you live in an older home, there a good chance that at the place where your walls meet your ceiling, it’s just a tad bit uneven. Years of home-owners painting and repainting, foundation settling and even poor craftsman ship can take it’s toll on those square white walls making it hard for even the most experienced of painter’s to get a nice crisp paint line.
So if you’re frustrated that your ceiling looks a little squiggly at the edges, there are some solutions.

Stamping a pattern at the edge can draw the eye away from any not-so-straight-lines.
Cutting in about an inch from the edge with painters tape creates a false line for the eye to be drawn up and can even mimic a faux tray ceiling.

Painting a mural on the wall and continuing up right on to that 5th wall completely obliterates that ceiling/wall line, as does hanging art to cover any imperfections and draw the eye into the middle instead of the edge.

Finally, Adding a treatment that you can work into the corner, such as aging or antiquing, can hide any obvious flaws or unevenness.
Most importantly, be creative and don’t be afraid to try something different. It is only paint!
