This little guy was ready for the dump, it had seen better days.  But wait! I have an idea. Why not re-purpose it?  I was in need of a new fixture and came up with the idea of taking parts from this fixture and adding a couple new pieces.

Basically this is all I did –

• painted the main body of the old fixture.
• removed the glass vase- {it had a crack in it}
• kept all the wiring in tact.
• added a shell lamp shade to the bottom, held in place with a light bulb ring.

Ta-da! A new light fixture for free.  Going green was a great solution to my light fixture problem.
