I like jewelry. That might be an understatement. I love jewelry!
I’m not into bracelets and rings that much, but necklaces and earrings are another story. I have a ton of them. Of course this posed a problem of where and how can I store all of my collection. I needed something simple and easy to do and I had too many for those “cookie cutter” jewelry stands on the market. I came across the idea of using a peg board to store my jewelry. I loved it because it was simple to do and I could get the materials I need for cheap.
Items Needed:
- Pegboard
- Various size hooks and arms
- Your jewelry
Next Steps
- The first thing you need to do is figure out where you want to put your jewelry board and how much room you will need. Now I have so much jewelry that I had to get a big board. I didn’t want to hang it even though I could have so I just leaned it up against a wall in my bedroom.
- Now once you have done that you can go and purchase your board and have it cut to your specific needs. Home Depot and Lowe’s can cut the board for you to any size you desire.
- Next I bought my hooks and arms that I was going to use on the pegboard and arranged them according to my needs.
- Once that is done you can start hanging your jewelry. I didn’t need any hooks to hang some of my earrings because they just slipped right into the peg holes. But I did use the arms to hang my longer necklaces and I used the shorter arms to hold hoop earrings and such.
It is totally up to you how you arrange the board. Just remember you want everything to be easy access.
Once all of your jewelry is in place you are done! How simple was that. This is a quick and easy way to store your jewelry and if you ever want to sell some of your jewelry (hint, hint) you have a perfect display board to do so. You could also paint the board to match your decor.
Other fun ways to hang your jewelry would be to use miniature 3M hooks and spread them out over a wall area or you could use a photo frame with material as backing so that you could use pins to hold your jewelry. Those are just a few ideas.
