Book Boxes are handmade in Vancouver from previously used and recycled books. While the whole process of making a Book Box is considered ‘Top Secret‘, each book is individually soaked in glue, pressurized and individually machine cut.

All Book Boxes are made from real, recycled books and most have been purchased from charities such as Goodwill. Even better news, 100% of every book is recycled  -30% by weight as a book box and 70% by weight as scrap paper. Book Boxes makes it their mission to minimize the environmental impact of their business. Now that is dedication!

I received the above book to review and I must say, the dust cover artwork is breathe taking. The book is gorgeous and the inside – even more beautiful then the outside. Take a glimpse:

My book box already has it’s safe little place on my bookshelf. What it is filled with, I will never divulge! It is truly inconspicuous to the naked eye. After a month of dust accumulation on my shelf, you would never know what it truly was. I love this idea so much that I am going to buy them for my boys for Christmas. What child doesn’t dream of a place to hide their treasures? More importantly, what would you hide in your book box?
