Some of us are NOT morning people. At first sign of daybreak, we hiss and bear our teeth to any person bold enough to approach our comfy haven. We whine, grumble and groan until we get our “elixir fix” in the form of coffee, tea or soda. We drag and stumble throughout the morning until such time as the energy fairy touches us with her magic wand.
Okay, maybe we don’t respond JUST like that, but it’s close enough.
Here are 3 easy and healthy pick me ups that are sure to get you going in the morning.
1. Reach for your toes: for some of us the only time we see our toes is when we’re putting on shoes or in the shower. Reaching or stretching for your toes is an excellent way to get the blood flowing and the heart pumping. Increased circulation equals more oxygen which often means more energy. Do this: while standing on a flat surface, inhale deeply, hold for 2-3 seconds. As you exhale slowly bend over reaching for your toes or your knees. Repeat 2 more times.
2. Juice it: coffee, tea and soda aren’t the healthiest ways to get an energy boost. Want a boost that’s sure to last a while? Check out Bolthouse Organic Fruit Drinks.
