I’ve been trying to lose a bit of extra baby weight for some time now. I’ve tried every shortcut under the sun, hoping even the smallest gains would motivate me to lose weight the right way. It didn’t. And truthfully, how could I surprised!? I was purposely leaving out one of the most important components to weight loss: exercise!
For the record, I hate to exercise. I really do. I don’t enjoy it plus I’ve never found a program or workout that’s remotely tolerable. But. Yes, but, I think I may have found something a little different–something that’s a little more me.
I recently purchased The 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. I had read several blogs lately by real moms just in awe of the results they gained while on this program. I researched it a little more and decided that I’d give it a try thanks to the testimonials by real moms with real baby weight issues.
The DVD is made up of 3 levels and each level is broken into 3 circuits. Each circuit takes you through 2 minutes of strength training, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs. There’s a simple warmup, a short cool down and the entire workout takes no more than 20 minutes. Jillian’s workout engages different muscles at the same time to burn more calories and get maximum results fast!
Today I completed Day 2 of the workout. I know I’m only at the beginning of my 30 days but I’ve decided to REALLY challenge myself by asking can I give just 20 minutes a day? Are the exercises broken up into time periods that are manageable and not boring? Yes and yes! Will I see results? If the soreness in my body is any indication then I’m sure I’ll be making progress rather quickly. If nothing else maybe these 30 days will help me make exercise a habit or help me not to hate it as much. With my ‘before’ pictures already taken, I’m ready to go.
