It’s that time of year — your wallets get thinner and your kids get a bit more demanding! With the latest trends hitting magazines all over the country, teens are experimenting and trying to find their own styles. This, however, can’t always be good. Here are some parent-friendly outfit options that will leave your teens looking trendy and appropriate.
Cute strappy tops are just that: cute. But, they can also be a tad bit revealing. A great way to cover up is the use of structured blazers or loose cardigans.
Another way to minimize the amount of skin showing is to layer. Find a general theme you’d like to achieve – pastels, dark tones, or mixing patterns. Tie a belt over your waist to avoid looking chunky from the fabric.
Skirts can be tricky. Avoid denim skirts, as those tend to be really tight and short. Instead, opt for flowy skirts in an array of colors and styles. For a more polished look, you can try skirts made with tougher fabric.
Accessorize. There’s a chance teens may hate the idea of basic tees and regular jeans – but a great way to perk up an outfit is to add accessories. From scarves to hats to jewelry. Try a few gold bangles to dress up a black, long-sleeved shirt. Or wrap a thin, frilly scarf around your neck to draw the eye. Even a pair of chandelier earrings can really spice up a fun dress.
