I am unfortunately a sufferer of adult-onset acne, and have posted about this personal trauma of mine previously on Blissful Style. Fine lines AND breakouts? Not fun. I have the situation under control at the moment, and it’s all about consistency and finding the gentle and effective products that work for me.
Some of you may have seen the recent Oprah show on health and beauty which featured a woman suffering, truly suffering with adult acne. Her routine was extremely rigorous, and Dr. Oz and dermatologist Dr. Susan Evans explained to her that she was potentially aggravating the problem with the products she was using.
It might be logical to think that intense cleaning, intense treatment, and intense moisturizing is needed for problem skin, but my experience is that gentle and simple makes the skin less irritated and stops the cycle of breakouts. For twice daily cleansing, a salicylic acid product works best for me because that provides the exfoliation that my skin needs without the need to scrub and rub.![]()
I was delighted to receive the new Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser recently to review because I was almost out of my cleanser and had planned to try something new. Right away I loved the pink color and the fragrant and energizing aroma of pink grapefruit. One pump of the thick liquid provided just the right amount of lathering to cleanse my face.
The luxurious feel of this wash and the refreshing scent made me forget that it was a medicated product. My face is loving it and it is clearly gentle because it doesn’t dry my face out at all.
More great new Neutrogena product reviews are on the way. Stay tuned.
