Summer can be a tough time for the beauty routines of busy moms. With bare-legged fashions, hair removal and the swimsuit-shimmy, it’s enough to make one move to the Arctic Circle for a few months. But one quick addition to your shower line-up can make all the difference for showing off summer skin: exfoliating scrubs.
Here are the best of the scrubs for sloughing off dead skin and revealing the beautiful cells beneath. Grab a palmfull of these babies, rub all over and show off your gleaming, new skin with summer hottie pride.
Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub with Crushed Cocoa Beans
Organic sugar and cocoa beans will turn your winter thighs and arms into edible glory. This scrub gently warms your skin as it polishes and moisturizes. This hard-to-find scrub is a beauty magazine editor cult fave. $13.99 for 9 oz. at drugstore.com
Awaken Sea Salt Scrub by Arbonne
Avocado and sweet almond oils moisturize as sea salt exfoliates. The Awaken aromatherapy scent is perfect for jump starting slow mornings and leaves a gentle, fresh scent on skin. Good for all skin types besides those particularly sensitive. I love this moisturizing scrub for transforming dry heels, elbows and knees. $28 for 16 oz. Shop online or find an Arbonne consultant.
Body by Sonya Dakar Triple Action Vita-Foliant
The Rolls Royce of the scrubs. Deep cleaning and detoxifying, it stimulates cell renewal and buffs off old skin with crushed bamboo, walnut shell and flaxseed. A whole bunch of science-y action promotes firmness and skin elasticity. I used this for two weeks and did not recognize my body. Seriously. $45 for 8.5 oz at Sonya Dakar.com

Something that works well for removing back blemishes and stuff is taking a bath with epsom salts and then afterwards, rubbing some fresh lemon juices over your skin.
I’ve used Arbonne’s Awaken scrub. It’s fantastic. I need to order more, actually. I use it to shave my legs. I rub in on my legs to get rid of the dead skin and then, after rinsing off the salt, I shave my legs with the remaining oil. Afterward, my legs look so shimmery and healthy. It’s great stuff.
One of my favorite scrubs is one I make myself… it’s made out of oil and sugar and coffee grounds. It smells like I’m making coffee in the shower, and it makes my skin feel fabulous.
