Since November 2008, my room was a shameful mess!
Textbooks, boots, clothes, hair accessories, blow dryers, combs, brushes and barrettes littered my hard wood floors in a manner that would make pigs in a stye sick with horror. I wanted to clean the room but I simply couldn’t spare the time. I had finals to prepare, presentations to tend to, dance classes to make and an endless list of “must do’s.”By the time the end of the year rolled around, the only thing I had managed to accomplish was putting away most of my 50-some-odd pair of shoes. I was restless at night and exhausted in the morning. There was so much “noise” and clutter in my room that I couldn’t even think, let alone sleep.
To answer your question, yes, I cleaned my room and its effect was instantaneous. It felt like everything in the universe simply breathed a sigh of relief. Truth be told, I breathed one too.
If you find yourself lethargic, restless or simply unable to focus, take a look at your surroundings. The solution might simpler than you think.
