Dermatologist’s tips to treat your dry skin
You can have soft, moist skin all year with simple changes in your skin care routine.
Winter weather and dry climates drain water from your skin. In winter, exposure to cold, windy outdoor air followed by dry, hot indoor air pulls moisture from your skin. Dry climates and dehumidified indoor air also sap your skin’s moisture. In these settings, even my own skin feels like a dry cracked desert lake bed if I am not diligent with good hydrating skin care.
You can treat dry skin with a few simple steps that I will outline over the next week. You will become an expert in picking and using the best skin care products for soft, moist skin… any time, any where:
- You will learn how to pick and use the right cleanser.
Plus, there’s a right and a wrong way to cleanse your skin. Clean skin is nice, but there are tricks to not over drying it.
- Moisturizers can be magic, but they aren’t all created equal.
Learn what to look for and how to tell which products will deliver what they promise. Plus, find products that will polish and soften your skin.
- High Tech environmental protection for skin rejuvenation; what works and when do you use it?
Antioxidants, vitamin C, sunscreen agents and beyond.
There are actually advances in science that keep you looking young longer than ever before. But again, big claims are made and not all products deliver.
