Yesterday Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicked off in New York City’s Bryant Park.  Designers are debuting their Spring 2010 collections in a display that ignores a troubled economy and focuses on art, beauty, detail, and design.

And on this, the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, in a city that was the unwilling host to such ugliness, that makes this fashion-loving American girl very proud.

Fashion can be frivilous, but today, it is also freedom!
