When you’re plus sized, sometimes the last thing you think about wearing is a dress. After all, don’t you want to be completely covered up? That’s what I feel like 90% of the time. While on the hunt for a dress for a friend’s wedding, I finally realized that I actually liked the way I looked after I tried one on. Of course, we all have different body shapes; some of us have hips, some (like me) don’t have hips, some of us are bigger busted, some of us (like me) are not, some of us have more weight on the top, while some of us have more weight in our bottom half. Either way, we all have different body shapes… and finding outifits or dresses that compliment our individual bodies can sometimes be difficult.

I’ve found 5 dresses and/or suits, for different shapes of bodies that I just absolutely love!

1. This first one I’ve found comes from IGIGI. This suit is one that you would more than likely wear at work. However I especially like the jacket/shirt. V-neck type jackets/shirts tend to compliment us right where we need it.

2. The second one I’ve found comes from Lane Bryant. Now I may be biased, but I love black clothing. Sometimes it is good to have bright colors, but most of the time I feel more comfortable in black. I like this dress as it has the halter top and the waist is higher, therefore making you look like you actually do have hips (if you’re like me and have NO figure!).

3. Number 3 comes to you from Macy’s. This one catches my eye as I like the color and the vertical color stripe. It’s slimming, has the right band right under your chest, AND it goes below the knees! This one could compliment just about any body, and if you wanted too you could add a shawl or light black jacket.

4. My fourth pick comes to you from IGIGI as well. This dress could compliment a wide variety of body shapes. If you have larger hips, you may be able to really show off this dress as it has the right flow! However if you are big busted this one could compliment you as well. I like the length and the gathering on the side! Over all, I think everyone could benefit from this one!

5. My last and final dress comes from Avenue.com. I absolutely LOVE this dress! It is fun, and full of life. I love how it gathers right at your rib cage and the halter top is wonderful. It offers a ton of coverage for your upper body, especially if that is a self conscious area for you. Isn’t it great? It is absolutely perfect for a romantic dinner out with your significant other.
