Have the Skin You Want This St. Patrick’s Day
Year after year, many of you with Irish roots (and those who just enjoy the art of celebration) celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Whether it rains, sleets or snows, celebrations occur all over this country and perhaps the world. In joining in the cultural festivities, you can’t help but notice a single theme: the color green. Whether you’re in New York, Chicago or Arlington, Texas, the theme is still the same: green, green and more green.
Loving All Things Green
Aside from being the preferred color for St. Patty’s Day celebrations, the color green is the color of nature and evokes a soothing, calming effect on the mind and soul. It symbolizes growth and renewal. It’s also the color of the healthiest foods nature has to offer. These foods do more than keep our systems healthy, they turn back the anti-aging clock and help keep us looking our youngest. Want flawless, glowing skin this St. Patrick’s Day and every day? Here are a few tips to get you started.
- Eat Green ~ when I stumbled on Eat Your Greens by Aine McAteer, I thought: this is GOOD. In a nutshell, Aine talks about the wonderful effects of eating green foods. They detoxify the body, deliver oxygen to the body’s cells and are powerful anti-oxidants.
- Wear Green ~ green tea bags and cucumber slices are excellent for the eyes. They reduce puffiness and help soothe dry, tired eyes. They’re also known for their diuretic and cleansing properties.
- Drink Green ~ want to get your skin to glow its finest. Try this tasty avocado shake recipe. Want to add a tropical kick to this skin glowing elixir? Try adding a few tablespoons of Goya’s Coconut Milk. Yum!
So, when you’re out celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this week (or month if you’re like some people I know) give your skin, body and soul the boost it needs to look its best. Give yourself a touch of green!
