Recently I and several of the Blissfully Domestic editors and BlissDom speakers got a special treat – bras and Flexees shapewear from Maidenform to wear at BlissDom ’09. I had just recently discovered the joys of shapwear (or under-armor as I like to call it) and I was very excited to try Flexees, and having just weaned my daughter a few months ago after 23 months of nursing, I was more than ready for some new bras.
I personally loved the Flexees I received – a shaping camisole and brief. They did a great job making me look slimmer, and they made my, um, “stomach jiggle” disappear!

Something that really impressed me about Maidenform was that they had such a wide range of sizes and styles. In all, they gave fourteen of us women bras and shapewear, and out of fourteen of us, only TWO of us wore the same size. That means Maidenform sent us thirteen different sizes of bras, without batting an eye! We had everything from 34-44 and A cups to DD cups. What a great selection! In the shapers, we had M-XXL. Maidenform has something for every body type, and I found that to be very impressive.
And the bras? I had never tried Maidenform’s bras before, and let’s just say I WILL be buying them in the future. Before I tried them, I hadn’t realized how badly I needed some “lift” in that area. Now, everything’s in it’s proper place and I’m feeling much better about myself!
Whether you’ve got a special event to attend or just want to walk around looking five pounds thinner, I’d definitely recommend Maidenform for all your undergarment needs. You can get them at many retails stores or at their website.

Ok…kidding aside, I wasn’t the only one in my family who “appreciated” my new bra…my husband couldn’t believe I came home with not just a new bra, but a PRETTY new bra! I was thrilled Maidenform sent one along in my size, and I’m giving them a closer look when I go bra shopping now.
That was so wise of them to send a bunch of their products to bloggers with big mouths because now that we “know” how great their products are? We can’t help but tell others!
Wow! What a great deal! I love Maidenform, but I rarely shop where they are sold, apprently, because I haven’t bought them in years. But for the shapewear, I think I shall go hunting to see where they are sold!

I’ve been wearing my Maidenform bras every single day since BlissDom. I am thoroughly embarrassed to say that I wore an old nursing bra to BlissDom, that’s how badly in need of new bras I was.
If I wasn’t married, I’m pretty sure I could land a man based solely on the work of these bras. Fingers crossed that my dazzling personality would distract from the jiggle unleashed when my shapewear was removed, though. Babies. They’ll get your belly every time.
I bought a new dress for the cocktail party before BlissDom and while I was pleased with how it fit in the fitting room of the store, I was even more pleased with how it fit once I got that shapewear on! I’m a “curvy” chick, so I can use all the help I can get. I used to think there was not enough spandex and underwire in the world to help “my girls” out after nursing two babies. But I was wrong, Maidenform to the rescue!

Have you guys tried Slimpressions? I love these! They slim and sculpt the top half – jelly belly, back fat and (gasp) arm flab! A bit pricey but worth it. (Sadly) I wear mine almost every day. A great layering piece that looks fashionable by no one realizes it’s shapewear. herroom.com has free shipping on them by the way. love it.
Ok, I’ll admit something totally embarrassing that I haven’t yet revealed. Now the whole internet world will know. I had a slight wardrobe malfunction WHILE SPEAKING at Blissdom. My old ‘undergarment” BROKE and the strap was just hanging there. I noticed something seemed wrong while I was talking, but I didn’t want to stop the panel to make an adjustment. Too bad I hadn’t yet put my new Maidenform one on yet! But once I did, I instantly realized my old one was doing nothing for me. Love the Maidenform! Somehow I missed picking up my shapewear so I can’t speak about that, but after three babies, my tummy could definitely use some shaping up.
