This week on “Talking Shop(ping): I am covering one of my favorite subjects, CLEARANCE SALES!  Now is the time to hit the end-of-summer clearance sales at department stores.  I love doing this because even at the end of the summer season, you can always find a few wardrobe staples on clearance that you can wear all year round.

This past Thursday I ventured out to the Bon Ton, one of my favorite department stores, because I had heard they were having a whopping 80% off of their clearance prices.  After a bit of searching, I struck wardrobe gold!  I found these ruched camisoles in several colors for only $4.

These camis are by Ruff Hewn, a store brand of Bon Ton’s that is one of my favorite sportswear brands.  They are wonderfully stretchy and great for layering  any time of the year. I also found several Calvin Klein printed tanks for $4 – again, these can be worn under a jacket or shirt all year-round.  I was pumped!  Finally, I found a beautiful pair of Liz Claiborne dark denim trouser jeans on clearance for $12.  They are super-elegant and seasonless. What a steal!

So don’t wait!  Between now and Labor Day weekend should be a GREAT time for hitting those clearance racks and stocking up on wardrobe basics.  Happy shopping!
