It’s that time of year again. We are freezing cold and bundled up in in coats and scarves, but we are about to be inundated with retailers rolling out the cute spring designs and, gulp, swimwear!
Although you are probably only thinking of buying cute warm weather clothes, it’s the perfect time to buy that timeless wardrobe staple, the trench coat. There is no danger that a classic trench will go out of style, and there’s still plenty of cold weather left!
I found some great sales on the winter coats and if all you can think about is spring, there are some colorful trench options available. If you already have a classic trench coat in your wardrobe, add one in a shorter length, a pattern or vibrant color, or an evening coat in a metallic or sateen. It’s all good.
Some great classic options include this Jessica Simpson trench from Nordstrom, now only $105.90. This color is called clover, but it also comes in black and stone.
And this one from Old Navy isn’t on sale, but it is only $49.50. How do you top that? With the next trench from Chadwick’s that is only $39.99.
It’s just a shorter version of the classic style and comes in red, my favorite color for a trench right now. Red really does go with almost anything.

Garnet Hill has a beautiful spring trench on sale right now for only $102.00. I love the apple green color and they also have it in paprika, black and stone.
I absolutely love this Tahari evening coat in low-sheen concrete satin from Nordstrom for only$105.90.
And what trench coat roundup would be complete without a Burberry trench? It’s $950.00, but a girl can dream, right?

There’s always this great classic trench from JC Penney. And this one is only $109.99. I can live with that.
It’s only 60 degrees right now at Laurin and Kelly Talk, but Laurin is still cold. And dreaming about a new trench coat to wear to Blissom 09 in Nashville!
