With the election behind us all, it’s time to start thinking about the winter holidays! I can scarcely believe it myself. Winter is a great time of the year, but there is one thing I have always dreaded once the weather turns cold–

Egad, just looking at those bad boys makes me cringe, and December hasn’t even graced us yet! What’s worse, is most women who wear these types of fashion disasters don’t know they have other options! What’s a stylish woman to do during the holidays to get in the Holiday Spirit and not look like her mother or grandmother from the ’80′s?

You didn’t choose any that would look particularly flattering on a larger woman – those are “skinny” people sweaters. To each his own, I guess. Don’t see the difference particularly between wearing a snowflake on your chest or having a Santa there. One is certainly more “festive” than the other. There are sure bigger things to worry about in this world.
Before I scrolled down, when I saw the pictures at the top, I thought you were endorsing those sweaters! I agree, I like the seasonal but still stylish ones at the bottom better.
So, what do you think of the sweaters that have fake fur around the necks? Stein Mart is full of them this time of year. I think they’re a better alternative to the appliqued horrors, but at the same time, they’re also a bit cougar-trying-too-hard.
Pam: Actually, ALL those sweaters were available in Misses XL. I am sorry you were not pleased with the ones I presented. I guess I can’t please all the people all the time
Susanna: HAHA! Sorry I scared you for a minute! Sweaters with faux fur?? Ugh. I get a scratchy neck just thinking about them! But I suppose if that was all there was, I would try to make it work. But overall, I think after one washing, the fur effect looks fake and matted, and totally NOT worth the expense!
