All of us mothers, whether we work away from home, work at home or are stay-at-home, make sacrifices for our children. We all do things to ensure that our children are healthy, educated and happy. Many times that’s meant that we go without something or give-up an “important to us” aspect of our lives. Thankfully, somebody “gets” that. Procter & Gamble (P&G) has an ongoing “Proud Sponsor of Moms” campaign that seeks to make sure Moms are appreciated for all that they do.
One set of Moms that certainly bear a tremendous burden are the mothers of the men and women who serve our country in the armed forces. They raised healthy, educated and happy kids and now have the added pleasure of being proud of their child’s commitment and service to our country. But that comes with an extra dose of mother-worry as they watch their child set out for war zones and places of unrest.
So when the United Service Organizations (USO) hosted its annual Gala to honor five outstanding service men and women from each branch of the military, P&G stepped in to do something fun and special for the mothers of those being honored.
P&G took over the hotel’s Presidential suite to host the P&G Beauty Room – a luxurious lounge where the military moms gathered to have their hair and makeup done by top Washington, D.C. beauty pros using COVERGIRL and Pantene products. Invitations to the P&G Beauty Room were also extended to the wives of the honored servicemen. The P&G Beauty Room was created as part of P&G’s ongoing Proud Sponsor of Moms campaign, designed to thank moms everywhere for the sacrifices they make for their families on a daily basis.
The women were able to relax and be pampered before the special Gala that included a performance by country music star, Trisha Yearwood, meet and greet with Washington dignitaries and best of all, seeing their child presented with the USO Serviceman of the Year award.
Looks like they had fun! Thank you P&G for all that you do for Moms!
