I have a confession to make. February was the first month I went to a licensed professional to wax my brows. Normally, I go to a friend, do it myself or go to someone with years of waxing experience. Well this time, I decided to boldly go where no Selena had gone before, into a salon for a brow job.
At the end of the visit, my brows looked amazing. It hurt more than I expected but at least they no longer looked like they could double for an ’80s mustache. All was well with the world until my brow-skin broke out. Within 24 hours, a few tiny little bumps appeared where most of the waxing occured.
I never knew waxing could trigger breakouts for some people. So, what do you do? Try dabbing a bit of hydrocortisone on it or using ice. Both could help inhibit breakouts.
Got any post-wax breakout rememdies? We want to know all about it!

being a waxing veteran for far too many years. I have found that if I mask after I wax that I don’t tend to break out as much. I know that some people may not be able to do this because of the fact that their skin is still pretty sensitive from the waxing but my skin is used to the waxing and it doesn’t bother me.
Hope this helps.
Well, I have been waxing my brows for years. I have found that if I wash my face as soon as possible and then put just a tiny bit of aloe gel (think sunburn gel) on the affected areas that usually soothes it enough to avoid the bumps. I don’t usually get bumps anymore, but I used to live by that routine!
Christy, that’s awesome. Aloe gel is very soothing for the skin and helps it regenerate quickly. Thanks for sharing!
Never thought to use a mask after waxing, but it makes sense. Masks are designed to refresh and clean the skin below the surface. Thanks so much for sharing, it definitely helps!
