According to this article at Luxaholics and many other fashion writers in the know, retro is the look to go for in sunglasses this summer.
Here’s rocker Gavin Rossdale in 80′s-inspired shades by Carrera:

My pick for retro stunners in shades is the Redeux Collection from Cinzia designs. They definitely combine fashion, function, and quality.

I think this style, called “the Year of the Cat” would look just great on my little peepers! But, I’ve never made an investment in a really nice pair of sunglasses. Have you? What do you look for in shades?

I look for the cheap. Between my own penchant for losing them and my small children’s penchant for wearing, stretching, and accidentally sitting or stepping on them, I NEVER pay a lot for sunglasses. Target is my favorite source for cute sunglasses under $25. And I found a really cute pair for around that much at Ann Taylor Loft, too.
My DH is all about Oakleys but I could never understand his obsession with high priced sunglasses until he finally twisted my arm to try some on. Much to his disappointment I find Oakleys to fit my face oddly and could not join him in his disturbing love affair. However, I did find a pair of Raybans that I love. It’s the lenses that make all the difference for me in the summer. I do have some cheapies with a rose lens that I love for the winter months. They make the snow less blinding and the grey days a little rosy.
