Prior to having children, one of my favorite luxuries was a visit to my dermatologist on my lunch hour for a chemical peel – sometimes I’d opt for a salicylic acid peel, sometimes glycolic acid – but when I’d leave my face would be pink and tingly. A few days later, my skin would look fresher, brighter and more even and feel smoother. Those days of extra time and disposable income are gone, so when I was given the opportunity to try Origins Brighter By Nature peel pads, I jumped at the chance.

While these pads are not medical-grade, they are high potency pads containing fruit acids that produce results. Immediately following use of these pads, my skin tone is improved – brighter and smoother. Origins Brighter by Nature is designed to be used twice a week and should compare to the benefits of a 30% glycolic acid peel. Having used these for approximately three weeks, I do notice a very slight difference in the overall feel of my skin, even on days I haven’t used the pads.

Perhaps my favorite advantage of these pads (aside from the smoother feel of my skin) is the lack of pain when I use them. While I’ve adjusted to the feel of a chemical peel over time, I certainly didn’t miss it! While the jar cautions hat you might feel a tingly sensation, I have yet to feel any discomfort while using them. Additionally, an in-office chemical peel can run upwards of $60. These pads play a little more nicely with my budget at under $40 for a jar of 40 (that’s 20 weeks of treatment!). And, of importance: my sensitive skin has not been adversely affected – no rash or allergic reactions whatsoever. Whew.

Chances are, when this jar is empty, I will be purchasing a second as I like the exfoliating benefits it provides.
