Don’t you just love a good white shirt? It is the backbone of a great wardrobe, whether it’s a tank, tee, work shirt, party piece, or gym top. There are so many great white shirts out there that I’m going to do you a solid and round up some great picks for you every week.
The Perfect Classic
Brooks Brothers may just have the perfect classic white shirt. It’s a crisp, no-iron, long-sleeved, button-down shirt that is perfectly tailored and fitted on the sides. Bargain-lovers may find the price a bit steep at $89.50, but a shirt this versatile is splurge-worthy.
There aren’t many places this shirt couldn’t take you. Polished enough for any office setting, you could also roll up the sleeves and wear it with a skinny belt high on the waist for a funkier look. And with our busy lives, being able to pull it out of the dryer and go? Priceless.
The Perfect Tee
I will confess to a white t-shirt addiction. It is long-standing and a serious situation. The lure of brand new, sparkling white, perfectly detailed tee is too strong for me to resist. My latest favorite is a discovery in the yoga section at Dillard’s. Just to be clear, I don’t do yoga, but this tee doesn’t need to be kept in the gym.
The keyhole tee by OmGirl is so perfect, I bought it in three colors, white, black, and teal. I told you, it’s a problem.
What makes this shirt perfect? Let me count the ways. One, it can be worn to the gym or anywhere else. So, everywhere. Two, despite the wide neck and hole in the back, it perfectly covers a regular bra. Three, it’s fitted through the bust and upper sides, then flares gently over the hips. Four, it’s plenty long.
One last confession. I bought two white ones. The second is hanging in the back of my closet with the tag still on in case my husband violates the cardinal rule of laundry which is never, ever wash my stuff for any reason, no matter how important, and the first one gets ruined.
You can never be too careful once you’ve found The Perfect White Shirt!
