There aren’t too many worse things than to be walking along and have a heel break. Well, there are worse things certainly, but in that moment, when your heel breaks and you have the whole day ahead of you — I challenge you to think of something worse.
Enter Pablo. He is my cobbler. I never thought I would say that. But one day, my friend saw me poking out of my heels and she told me I could get it repaired. It had never occur to me.

If your high-end shoes have a scuff, you would take them to the cobbler. But shoe repairs aren't just for fancy shoes.
Now I’m hooked. So I’m sharing three myths that Pablo has busted about shoe repair. I hope it helps you save your favorite pair of shoes.
Myth number 1: Cobblers really aren’t that expensive. It costs me $10 to restore my shoes to new. This prolongs the life of my shoes. And that’s in San Diego, where things aren’t known to be cheap.
Myth number 2: They only shine shoes or they are only for men. Nope, the best thing Pablo does is restore the bottoms of my shoes. He puts a thicker, rubber sole on them so that they last way longer than the first sole does.
Myth number 3: You should wait until your shoes are broken to have them fixed. This is something Pablo told me, but I’m drinking the koolaid. Have you ever bought a fabulous pair of shoes with nothing but a tan leather bottom. This bottom is destroyed within weeks. A cobbler can cover those bottoms so that the shoe wears evenly.
So while Pablo might not be closeby to you, I would suggest you look up a cobbler nearby if you have a pair of heels that are looking sad. A local cobbler might just be able to turn that frown upside down.

I had all intentions of taking my shoes to a cobbler (this was about 3 years ago), but I just kept wearing them until the sole was too thin to be worth fixing.
Otherwise… none of my shoes cost more than $10, so it is typically cheaper for me to just buy a new pair!
Pablo sounds great. I have great memories as a child going with my mom to her “Pablo”.
