I’ve seen a lot of buzz on Twitter lately about frantic pre-BlogHer shopping trips, and it’s no wonder because we ladies love to a) have an excuse to dress up and b) never pass up a chance to indulge our neuroses and general self-esteem and/or body image issues. You may have heard me say before that I have a *ahem* few vanity issues myself, so I can’t feign complete innocence here but I can tell you that my first rule is to wear something that FITS WELL and my second rule is to wear things that are comfortable and pretty at the same time.
I know sometimes we need to suffer for beauty and fashion, but I try to limit those times to be as few as possible, such as getting my eyebrows waxed! So let me show you a few of the flattering yet comfortable items I’ll be wearing at BlogHer ’09. All these looks are by my fabulous sponsor, Lands’ End. They are pretty much the go-to place for comfortable fashion and I am super-proud to be representing them at BlogHer.
First up: I love, love LOVE both these layering tanks and denim skirt. I have been searching for the perfect denim skirt for a long time and this is IT! (And it is on sale for $19.99 right now. Seriously!) Pair this with one of Lands’ Ends chic scarves and comfy cute flip-flops and you have a perfect daytime outfit!

Seriously, save the high heels for the cocktail parties – keep your feet comfy during the day and you won’t regret it!
These pieces are so great for mixing and matching with other items as well. I’ll be wearing the denim skirt with this gorgeous cotton silk pintuck shirt:

And the layering tanks (which seriously, at $10 each are the steal of the century – go GET some!!) with this super-comfy and oh-so-flattering cotton modal skirt.

It has a foldover top for comfort that also makes it so easy to adjust the length if you are a little on the short side like I am. I *love* it. It is perfect for wearing around every day but easy to dress up for a special event like BlogHer. Just add one of the aforementioned scarves, or one of these cute over-sized reversible bags (yes I said reversible! For two looks in one!):

I’ll be dressing up my outfits with some of these great bangle bracelets as well:

And in keeping with the cute & comfortable shoe theme, you’ll also see my tootsies outfitted in these to-do-for patent penny slides. They just make me happy!

Of course there are many fancy, fancy parties going on at BlogHer, and lucky for me, Lands’ End also does fancy! My co-blog author at Mommin’ It Up, Emily Berry, will be wearing this gorgeous silk shift dress…

…and I’ll be wearing it too! In a different color, of course, but this dress is so versatile, you’d never even notice we were twinsies. You can wear it without the sash for a simple A-line shift look, or you can wear the sash tied a variety of different ways. This is again, a gorgeous, eye-catching silk dress that is seriously so comfortable and yet flattering at the same time. It’s everything I could want.
So, that’s what I’m wearing to BlogHer, courtesy of Lands’ End. I hope you’re wearing something that fits great, makes you feel good, and is comfy too!

Love lands end! And I’m totally lovin’ my denim skirt right now, too…
Oooooohhhh….I can’t wait for BlogHer!!
Love lands end! Those are adorable pieces
Great suggestions! I can’t wait to see all your outfits!
oooh- I need that denim skirt!
I too, am a Lands’ End junkie. I absolutely hate trying on clothes in the store, so I usually order them online and then take them back to our local Sears store if they don’t work. I’ve never been disappointed with their clothing for me or my daughter!
Awesome clothes. I didn’t realize they had silk shift dresses.
I’ve been eyeing that denim skirt for months now…and I might just purchase it tonight ($19.99! AWESOME!). What do you think of the “fit”? Is it true to size?
I also love that silk pintuck shirt. Maybe I’ll buy that too. It appears to be very “nursing-friendly” too – LOVE that!
Am just loving to see the skirts, shoes and ornaments really good looking and i wish that i could blogher.
