I do not enjoy long, up hill walks.
I would rather have a nice leisurely, straight path walk with one short steep hill than a long slightly up hill path that burns over a long period of time.
Do you ever face life like that? You know, looking for the quick, let’s-get-it-over-with pain of an issue surfacing as opposed to a long, drawn out issue that takes time to really work through…and heal. I sure do!
Because it is the amount of time on the issue that forces me to walk through the pain, step by painful step, before I can meet the destination of peace.
It is slow.
It is thorough.
It burns.
It is what God calls us to go through sometimes.
If you’re facing an issue today that seems like a long, slow burn, I urge you to be willing to go the distance.
However,
Keep this in mind: you do not have to try harder. You just need to surrender yourself to the journey. Jesus, in His mighty grace, will get you to the destination.
He is your guide.
He is the shade under the tree when it gets hot.
He is the strength when your legs become weak.
He is the strong arms when you need carried.
And He is the peace beyond the pain.
How wonderful that we don’t have to walk alone!

Thank you Sarah — I needed just these words today!
Great job! That is so right on – so hard to remember sometimes in the middle of the burn! But so right. Thakn you!
Sarah Mae, I like when you said, “you do no thave to try harder, You just need to submit…” Jesus does the rest and I’m so glad He does. His yoke is light. :O)
