Beautiful Feet

“How beautiful upon the mountain are the feet of him who brings good news …” Romans 10:15a (ESV)
My daughter is a dancer.
Her feet are her instrument.
And they are beautiful. Not in that perfectly manicured, always in a cute shoe sort of way.
No, her feet are usually sweaty. Often bruised. And always dirty.
But the sweat, those bruises, that dirty … signs of use.
I hope my feet are sweaty, bruised and dirty. Useful to the Kingdom.
Beautiful, dirty feet.
That bring good news.

I clicked over here when I saw the title of this post. I wrote a post about my mom’s feet before she passed away. Just wanted to share it: http://beneathmyheart.blogspot.com/2009/09/how-beautiful-are-feet.html
Blessings,
Traci
and as one who formerly danced…… they were often dry, cracked and blistered! Good signs of hard work.
Thank you, Kristi! So true … and the older she gets the worse her tights look too!
Gorgeous photo! I have two dancers, so I appreciate this post. My 12 year olds feet sure shows signs of dancing for 9 years. My 8 year old isn’t so bad yet, but they sure do get dirty from those dance floors, lol
Traci, that post was beautiful!! Thank you for sharing it with me.
They do get dirty, don’t they? And thank you for the compliment on the picture. I took it the day she found out she had been invited to begin the Pre-Pointe class. Is there a happier day for a young dancer than the day you find out toe shoes are REALLY going to happen??
Amen! May our feet be dirty. Great word picture. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful picture and post. My feet are old, dry and hard from days of going barefooted and never wearing any shoes in the house!I work diligently to smooth and soften them, paint my nails and make them sandal ready. I wish I could claim they became calloused from doing good for the Kingdom and then they would be beautiful in God’s sight!
Thank you for your kind comment. I pray for dirty feet too!
