There is a lot of buzz in the media lately about scientists trying to prove the Big Bang Theory. The creation of the world is so much more beautiful and complicated in my mind than scientists will ever be able to prove.
I love reading about Creation in Genesis, imagining how the Lord made each aspect of this world with His loving hands. As a woman who loves to categorize everything, it thrills me that He set aside separate days for each aspect of Creation. Finally, when it was all done, He wisely took a day of rest.
Because most of us have studied the details of how the Lord created the world at some point or another, have you ever thought about how He continues to command His creation on a daily basis?
In Chapters 38-39 of Job, the Lord gives us a glimpse of how He still reigns over this Creation of His. From the moment that He “marked off its dimensions” in Job 38:4, right down to commanding the eagles to soar in Job 39:27, the Lord reminds Job that He is the one in charge.
Wow! What a reminder of the amazing power of our God!
The One who laid the foundations of the world and even now commands the lightening bolts (38:35) may have inspired those verses with me in mind. Often I try to tell God exactly what He needs to do to handle a tough situation; if He leads in a direction that takes me out of my comfort zone, I question His authority. It all seems so silly in contrast to these verses and their testament of His power.
His power reigns over the most gentle of breezes and the fiercest storm–surely He can provide for me!

Oh, AMEN, Heather! It awes me to thinking about God maintaining His creation on a daily basis. Sometimes, it’s like we fall into thinking of this world like one of those perpetual motion, ball bearing toys you see on executives desks. BUT IT’S NOT, IS IT. Love your last line. THANKS!
