Today, I am ever so Thankful that the Father will never give me more than HE knows I can bear.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13
I know your first response might be that this Scripture is talking about being tempted, but did you know in the Greek, the meaning of that word does include the idea of being “tempted to sin,” BUT it also includes the idea of “time of trial” or “time of testing.” The word is peirasmos. It is the same Greek word used in 1 Peter 4:12:
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you; But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”
So, I hold fast to the promise that my Father will never give me more than He knows I can handle. Will I “feel” like I can’t handle it or feel overwhelmed? YES!!! And this is where my TRUST in Him comes into play. I have to TRUST that He knows better than I, what I can and can’t handle, and rely on Him every step of the way!!
So, He might give me more than I THINK I can handle, but NEVER more than He KNOWS I can handle with trust and faith. See the difference?
Believe me, there are days in my life when this PROMISE is the ONLY thing that gets me through, and that whatever trials and challenges I face will make me stronger in my faith and will be for HIS glory.
