What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him. Ecclesiastes 3:9-14
All things come about in their own time. You can tap your fingers and roll your eyes in irritation, but in truth, as we all know, some things cannot be rushed and God will see to it that each event has it’s due season. This is true in every aspect of life, from parenting, to gardening, from losing to healing There is only so much I can do, the rest is out of our hands. Some things simply cannot be forced. I must remind myself of this daily when dealing with my children. I can instruct them, pray for them, show them, and lead them but I cannot force them to be ready (like my 2 year old with the potty or my 4 year old with reading) When their moment arrives, I shall offer up prayers of thanksgiving, and do my best to encourage them along the way. It’s definitely way easier said than done, however, it is the way I think God intended it to be. Be encouraged, and ride out your season, whatever one you may be in now. Be encouraged, seasons change.
