A funny thing, faith is.

You need faith, to have faith, without it, how could you possibly believe?

Since my sort of “renewal” into faith this year, I have mostly been learning, appreciating all the good things that have fallen into my life. I have marveled at how everything around me has changed, simply because I look at it with different eyes. It has been beautiful, breath taking, and inspiring.

I am no fool, however. I knew the time would come when reality would rear its ugly head and do what it does. Cast shadows over the colors, dim the lights a bit, sprinkle a little bit of doubt and a whole lot of negativity.

I KNEW THIS.

Yet, when it happened, I was completely unprepared.

I should have seen it coming; it had been lurking for weeks. From my inability to focus on my prayers, to my slow realization that I was distancing myself a bit from the intensity of the last few months, it was all there.

The routine of daily life taking precedence over spirituality once again; just the opening evil needs to sneak in. It happened, in a small way, but enough that faith was shaken. I questioned. I doubted. I got angry and discouraged.

How easily we allow our faith to tremble.

So, I prayed, held steadfast, because I KNOW. I have faith in my faith.

He answered, in a small way, but enough that I saw Him and knew. It may not be the answer I’m asking for, but it is the answer I need. He is there, He hears me, He knows. And if I let Him work, He’ll provide.

I KNOW THIS.
