It occurred to me this week that as a mom, there are a few needs for survival. Let’s face it, if you’re a mom you face a variety of challenges daily. How you handle these challenges is different for every mom and your “needs” are different as well, but it is my idea that most of us moms have some basic needs of survival. They may come in a different variety or form, but they are all similar. I even took some polls of my friends and got many of the same answers. My basic needs of survival are:

1. Hershey’s – Yes that’s chocolate. We all have a basic need of some type of “comfort food”. Sometimes my “comfort food” cravings change, but at this current moment my craving is for chocolate and the basic Hershey bar will do. Every mom has a “craving”. What’s Yours?
2. Coca Cola Classic - Drink. Some moms are addicted to vodka, others coffee, but for yours truly it’s good old fashioned Coca Cola Classic. I am a red can girl all the way. It is the first thing I want when my feet hit the floor. Nothing else will satisfy me. Plus, the caffeine has its benefits too.
3. Quiet Time – We all want it, a little peace and quiet. What you choose to do with yours may be different that what I do, but you have the same “need”. Some moms sleep, others soak in the tub and myself? I spend that time with my Heavenly Father.
So, no matter which mom you ask, you’re going to get similar answers, don’t believe me? Just try it. We all have “needs” and as moms I believe we should have at least one or two of those met on a daily basis. It helps me keep my sanity and be a better mom. What about you?

Caffeine, totally. Coffee in the morning, coke zero in the afternoon (I’m a red can girl at heart Alyssa, but I’ve been trying to watch the calories! lol)
Chocolate, yup! I lean towards more expensive tastes (like Godiva, nom nom nom) but really, anything will do. Chocolate ice cream, milkshake, brownie, even a Hershey bar!
Me time, yes again. When I can get caffeine, chocolate and me time all at once? Bliss!
I’m a Starbucks/CokeZero/Vodka girl…
And I luuuurve sweets – but – try to keep myself in check – so I have a jar of dark chocolate hershey’s kisses on top of the fridge for my sweet tooth…
Also – exercise. I need my ME time. I get my me time while working out. It’s WIN/WIN.
See. I told you I had a jar of ‘em.
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum
You hit the nail on the head, girl!!
I can’t have caffeine or corn syrup, so the coke is out of the question, but I used to be addicted to Dr Pepper and if I could still drinking it without having heart issues, I would!
Dark chocolate is a daily must!! Hershey’s Special Dark is my FAVE!
Me time. Not just a little quiet after the kid goes to bed. Every mom needs someone to take the kids from time to time and just let her go shop, hang out with a girlfriend at the coffee house, or go for a walk alone.

Oh that’s easy-
1) Coffee
2)Chocolate
3)Quiet
Ok, #3 isn’t likely. So I’m good with some French Roast & a Hershey bar!
My three needs are easy.
-I am a coffee addict. (starbucks is my friend)
-a nap ( I have recently broke my habit of a nap everyday it was HARD)
-music (nothing makes me more relaxed than some nice music to boost my mood)
Jesus and coffee. But if I had to choose one….:) Jesus all the way!
