I was married in December under twinkling lights and a light drizzle of freezing rain that made everything look magical. I would never change a thing about that wonderful day, but have often thought of how fun it would be to have a “Fall” wedding. So, here is my chance to share with you how fun a wedding in the heart of Autumn can be!
When I think of fall I think of reds and browns, sunflowers and mums, hay and pumpkins, barns and fields dotted with brightly colored trees.. so I thought a perfect setting for a fall wedding would be on a farm.
A rustic barn would be a great location for the reception, while the open field (praying for good weather of course) could be where the ceremony takes place.
An array of bright mums, sunflowers, wheat, and anything else that nature has in store for this beautiful season would make lovely bouquets and table arrangements.
The cake – oh my! So many ideas! The traditional white wedding cake would be splendid with fall colored roses cascading down, but my favorite is this chocolate cake – looks delicious and beautiful too!
And what better way to say welcome at an Autumn wedding than by greeting guests with apple cider?
A wedding wouldn’t be complete without saying thank you to your guests, so great favors are a must. Some great ideas would be candy apples, small jars of honey, a bundle of small cinnamon sticks – anything that speaks “fall” will be a treat!
I loved looking through photos and articles to get ideas, so many beautiful weddings! Fall is a wonderful season of color, coziness, peace, and preparation.. What a lovely season for a wedding.
