1. Practice. Things that seemed so-o hard when I first started vlogging are much easier now that I’ve been vlogging for 3 years. Although I’m far from practice making me perfect I’m much more knowledgeable and comfortable with video blogging.
2. Love. Some people do videos because they don’t like to write. I don’t hate writing – I actually do freelance writing; but I LOVE video. Some people find it much easier to just talk than to try to write their words with good punctuation, capitalization, etc.
3. Consistency. Just as writing a blog post every day will raise your traffic so will uploading a video every day. Quality is still important, but quantity helps. Just ask Gary V if you don’t think quantity helps.
There are still a lot of people that have never even put one video online so doing one every day sounds crazy to them. Well, I’ve officially gone mad and started March Vlogging Madness. You’re all invited to join in! Maybe after I’ve finished a month of daily videos I’ll have more reasons to add. Can you think of any reasons I should add?
The biggest hurdle to daily vlogging, or any vlogging, seems to be topics. I plan to vlog about everything from our pets to our produce. If you can blog it you can vlog it. Sometimes if you can tweet it you can turn it into a vlog. Remember that short and sweet is fine. A one minute video is plenty long and there are many that are even shorter than that.
When I asked my fellow vloggers for their best video blogging tip they replied, “Just do it.” That was the best advice they received, the best thing they did, and the best advice they thought you should have. Just vlog it! If you need some simple steps check out these Five Steps To Start Vlogging.
Now go make a video!
