My sister-in-law Karin has a blog called Our Treasures from Afar about her and her husband’s life with eight, soon to be nine, adopted children. Two are from America, five are from China, one is from Guatemala, and in the fall they’ll be going back to China to get Zoey.
Karin has such a heart for orphans that she uses her blog not only to talk about her family but also to educate and inform others about the orphans in the world in need of homes, particularly those in China. She also works with Love without Boundaries.
I’d love for her to have a blog that is designed just for her.
what a fun idea! I’m not sure if I know any blogs that need a makeover, I’ll think about it
My daughter is a wonderful 11 year old that recently graduated from 5th grade. It has been a trying 3 years as she has weathered through my divorce from her dad. To say that is has been smooth sailing would be an outright lie. She has had to grapple with some hard life truths and it has been impossible for me to keep those truths at bay.
Her teachers at school have alerted me to her developing writing skills. She has this great way of expressing her own voice through her writing. I encouraged her to start a blog with me although, lately, she’s been the one doing all the posting. My idea was that she and I could work through some of the issues a young girl faces when she begins that journey from girl to preteen. Sometimes it is difficult for My Girl to share her emotions with me. It is my hope that this blog will help her get through confusing family issues and difficult peer issues.
I wish I could post a picture of this beautiful child. Of course, her true beauty is on the inside. She has a way of knowing when someone is hurting and saying or doing something that will change their day towards the better. She is loyal and kind and so very good. She is smart and a voracious reader and loves to be sarcastic. I haven’t been able to give her much the past few years. I wish I could give her a blog that reflected her inner and outer beauty and give her a place that she felt good about every time she looked at it. A place that she could call home that, no matter our physical address, would always be the same.
“Our” blog is titled: I’m Ok, You’re Ok and it can be found at meandmom.wordpress.com
The gift of a makeover would give her such a thrill!
